US Stock Futures Down Ahead Of Economic Data, Earnings

US stock futures are lower this morning. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 37 points to 13,082.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 4.90 points to 1,392.10. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 3.75 points to 2,706.25. US stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 0.39% to 13,168.60, the S&P 500 index rising 0.51% to 1,401.35 and the Nasdaq 100 index jumping 0.87% to 3,015.86. Data on Q2 productivity and unit labor costs will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Macy's M is expected to report its Q2 earnings at $0.64 per share on revenue of $6.12 billion. HollyFrontier HFC is expected to post its Q2 earnings at $2.26 per share on revenue of $5.15 billion. Dish Network DISH is estimated to report its Q2 earnings at $0.66 per share on revenue of $3.64 billion. PPL PPL is projected to report its Q2 EPS at $0.41 on revenue of $2.24 billion. Ralph Lauren RL is estimated to post its FQ1 earnings at $1.78 per share on revenue of $1.58 billion. Computer Sciences CSC is expected to report its Q1 EPS at $0.22 on revenue of $3.89 billion. Liberty Interactive LINTA is estimated to report its Q2 EPS at $0.23 on revenue of $2.34 billion. Jack in the Box JACK is projected to post its Q3 EPS at $0.35 on revenue of $509.85 million. News Corp NWSA is expected to post its Q4 EPS at $0.32 on revenue of $8.73 billion. Priceline.com PCLN issued weaker-than-expected fiscal third-quarter forecast. Walt Disney Co DIS reported downbeat third-quarter revenue. Express Scripts Holding Co ESRX lifted its yearly earnings forecast. European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index declined 0.63%, French CAC 40 index fell 0.75%. London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.46% and German DAX 30 index dropped 0.56%. Asian markets ended mostly higher, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average surging 0.88%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.16% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.50%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index dropped 0.04%. The dollar index (DXY) gained 0.13% to trade at 82.42. The euro dropped 0.28% versus the dollar to trade at $1.2365, versus $1.2397 in North American activity late Tuesday. The US dollar declined 0.4% versus the Japanese yen to trade at ¥78.30. Nymex crude-oil futures delined $0.60 to trade at $93.07 a barrel. However, gold futures fell $3.20 to $1,609.60 an ounce.
