Early Volume Plays (HAUP, IRE, NM, BRCD)

Hauppauge Digital HAUP dropped over 6.5% to $3.07 amidst high volatility in the pre-market session. Shares of HAUP jumped 281% last week to a 52-week high of $4.85, after the world's leading developer and manufacturer of TV tuner products for personal computers launched live TV support for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The 50-day average daily volume for HAUP is 1.07 million. Bank of Ireland IRE shares tumbled for a second day today after the bank announced yesterday that its shareholders have approved a €3.5 billion capital-raising program. IRE, after losing more than 18% yesterday, fell 10.7% to $5.09 in the pre-market session. The company has a three-month average daily volume of 2.07 million. Navios Maritime Holdings NM announced the sale of the Navios Pollux, a 2009 South-Korean-built Capesize vessel to Navios Maritime Partners NMM for $110 million. The stock fell 5% to $5.20 on the news in the after-hours session Thursday and was trading at $5.37, down 1.47% by 10:03 am today. NM has a three-month average daily volume of 775,000. Brocade BRCD announced a Q2 adjusted profit of $0.13 a share, beating analyst expectations by $0.01 a share. However, revenue fell 1% to $501 million from last year and missed the $503.16 million consensus target. Following the news, Goldman Sachs GS cut BRCD from “buy” to “neutral.” Shares of BRCD plunged 8.9%, to $5.35 in the pre-market session. The 50-day average daily volume for Brocade is 18.61 million.
