Macy's M announced it would be hiring 65,000 seasonal workers, slightly higher than first anticipated.
This comes as Macy's has seen an expected rise of 3% to 3.5% in same-store sales in the second half of fiscal 2010.
Macy's plans to hire the seasonal workers and place them in its stores, call centers, distribution centers and online fulfillment facilities during the holiday season.
Shares of Macy's are down 29 cents to $21.71 in pre-market trading, a loss of 1.3%.
