Benzinga's Top Pre-Market NASDAQ Gainers (CNXT, GENZ, XING, LXRX)

Conexant Systems Inc CNXT rose 15.87% to $2.19 in the pre-market session. Standard Microsystems Corp SMSC announced its plans to acquire CNXT for around $284 million including debt. Genzyme Corporation GENZ added 3.45% to $73.85 in pre-market trading. According to The Wall Street Journal, Sanofi Aventis SA SNY is in merger discussions with GENZ that would value GENZ at around $80 per share. Qiao Xing Universal Resources Inc XING moved up 3.34% to $3.09 in pre-market trading. XING had $520.07 million in total cash and $109.27 million in total debt for the recent quarter. Lexicon Pharmaceuticals Inc LXRX gained 3.00% to $2.06 in the pre-market session. LXRX reported its plans to start development of a tablet version of its drug for type-2 diabetes.
