Must Watch Stocks for September 26, 2016


Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are:

  • Wall Street expects Carnival Corp CCL to report quarterly earnings at $1.88 per share on revenue of $5.06 billion before the opening bell. Carnival shares rose 0.90 percent to close at $47.26 on Friday.
  • Shares of Twitter Inc TWTR surged more than 21 percent Friday following a report from CNBC's David Faber, that the social media company is preparing to sell itself and has hired Goldman Sachs to handle potential offers. Alphabet Inc GOOGL and salesforce.com, inc. CRM are among the potential buyers, according to Faber. The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff is considering a bid for Twitter and talks between the companies are at an early stage. Verizon Communications Inc. VZ is also seen as a potential buyer for Twitter, according to various media reports. Twitter shares surged 21.42 percent to close at $22.62 on Friday.
  • Analysts expect Cal-Maine Foods Inc CALM to report a quarterly loss at $0.22 per share on revenue of $298.36 million before the opening bell. Cal-Maine shares declined 0.09 percent to close at $42.17 on Friday.

  • Before the markets open, Vail Resorts, Inc. MTN is projected to report a quarterly loss at $1.67 per share on revenue of $171.36 million. Vail Resorts shares declined 0.86 percent to close at $160.56 on Friday.
  • LANXESS AG NPV LNXSF announced Sunday, it has signed a contract to acquire specialty chemicals company Chemtura Corp CHMT for $33.50 per share in cash or $2.5 billion. Chemtura shares gained 2.29 percent to close at $28.18 on Friday.
  • Analysts are expecting Thor Industries, Inc. THO to have earned $1.34 per share on revenue of $1.25 billion in the latest quarter. Thor will release earnings after the closing bell. Thor Industries shares slipped 0.45 percent to close at $81.67 on Friday.
  • Apptio Inc APTI shares jumped over 44 percent on its first day of trading. Apptio officially launched its IPO Friday. Initially priced at $16, Apptio went as high as $24.60 on the day. Apptio shares surged 40.94 percent to close at $22.55 on Friday.
