The share prices of fertilizer companies have been hit hard during Monday's trading session in sympathy with a sell-off in wheat and corn futures. Leading the way lower is Potash Corp. POT, which has lost 3.55% to $58.92 on the day.
Mosaic MOS has shed 3.04% to $82.90. Agrium AGU is down 2.68% to $93.99 and Monsanto MON has lost 2.11% to $71.52.
For those investors who missed the agricultural trade the first time around, this recent pullback may be an excellent entry point. While the move up has been sharp, and corrections should be expected, the bull market in agricultural could last for a decade or more as an expanding middle class in emerging markets along with global population growth fuels demand.
