Eminem Accuses Donald Trump Of 'Brainwashing' His Followers: Rapper Says Those Are 'The People He Cares About The F****** Least'

  • A video of Eminem criticizing Donald Trump went viral this week.
  • Eminem has been critical of Trump in recent years, even dedicating a freestyle rap to the former president previously.

Considered one of the greatest rappers of all time, Eminem has been critical of former president Donald Trump, who is campaigning to return to the White House in the 2024 presidential election.

Here’s a look at the latest remarks and the contentious history between the rapper and politician.

What Happened: In a new viral video, Eminem criticizes the followers of Trump, who are often known as the MAGA crowd, named for the popular “Make American Great Again” mantra of the former president.

Eminem said he gets flustered in his head when he thinks about Trump, because there’s too many things he wants to say.

“Watching him play to his base that thinks that he cares about them, and is actually the people he cares about the f***ing least,” Eminem said in an undated video shared by @rising_path on TikTok.

In the video, which has over 1.2 million views, Eminem said Trump’s core demographic is white, middle-class people and they are supporting a billionaire who’s never struggled in his entire life.

“He’s somehow still got them because he’s brainwashing them into thinking that something great is going to happen.”

Despite the criticism, Eminem admitted that Trump might be good at what he does, given his strong following.

“I will say this, he talks a good one.”

The video went viral Tuesday, resulting in Eminem becoming a trending topic on Twitter.

Past History Between Trump and Eminem: The rapper has been critical of Trump in recent years and shared similar commentary with Vogue about the president’s followers, according to Vibe.

At the 2017 BET Awards, Eminem did a rap freestyle video that directly addressed Trump and became a trending video on YouTube.

“But we better give Obama props, ‘cause what we got in office now is a kamikaze that’ll prob’ly cause a nuclear holocaust,” Eminem rapped in the track.

The track accused Trump of racism, attacking the National Football League, supporting the Ku Klux Klan and more.

“Then says he wants to lower our taxes. Then who’s gonna pay for his extravagant trips. Back and forth with his fam to his golf resorts and his mansions?”

The rap freestyle ended with several callouts to Trump’s followers.

“Any fan of mine who’s a supporter of his, I’m drawing in the sand a line, you’re either for or against.”

The rap freestyle drew the attention of the Secret Service at the time, according to Esquire, describing the lyrics of Eminem’s “The Ringer.”

“These verses are makin’ him a wee bit nervous, and he’s too scurred to answer me with words, ‘cause he knows that he will lyrically get murdered. But I know at least he’s heard it, ‘Cause Agent Orange just sent the Secret Service,” the lyrics of “The Ringer” say.

Trump previously appeared at the Shady National Convention where he “endorsed” Eminem for president.

“I know a winner when I see one. And Donald Trump is telling you right now, Slim Shady is a winner. He’s got brains, he’s got guts, and he’s got Donald Trump’s vote,” Trump said before introducing the “great candidate” Slim Shady on stage.

The recent criticism from Eminem might not go over well with another 2024 presidential candidate. As Benzinga recently shared, Republican Vivek Ramaswamy had a short rap career performing during college. Ramaswamy often rapped about libertarian policies and was known to cover Eminem’s “Lose Yourself.”

Ramaswamy said he was a big fan of Eminem at the time.

“I saw myself, honestly, making it big through American capitalism, and that’s why the Eminem story spoke to me,” Ramaswamy previously said.

The presidential candidate and biotech entrepreneur has since said that he isn’t as big of a fan of Eminem these days, due to the rapper’s anti-Trump stance, but still appreciates his music.
