Trump Mug Shot Inspires Rap, Tops iTunes Chart: Hear AI Donald Put Vivek To Shame

Zinger Key Points
  • A musician created an AI song of Donald Trump rapping about his mug shot.
  • The song has charted on iTunes and gone viral on Twitter.

Presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy was known to rap during his college days, but he may face competition for the title of best musician in the 2024 race.

For the second time this year, a song featuring former President Donald Trump has been released.

What Happened: A mug shot of Trump went viral on social media and is now the subject of a top rap song on the iTunes chart, a music service from Apple Inc AAPL.

The song “First Day Out” isn’t actually from Trump himself, instead, it uses artificial intelligence to portray the former president rapping about the “radical left” and his mug shot, as reported by the New York Post.

The song, which was produced by artist Hi-Rez, hit number two on the iTunes chart according to the report. Hi Rez portrays the former president as “Trump the Don” in the rap. A video on Twitter sharing the song has been seen over 2.9 million times.

The song features shout-outs to people associated with Trump and to his “MAGA” base, referencing his popular “Make America Great Again” slogan that was used as a rallying cry, for merchandise and inspired the creation of the Point Bridge America First ETF MAGA.

“These DA’s acting silly, my mug shot is worth a billi,” the fake Trump raps in the song.

The fake Trump also references his mug shot merch making a “milli,” which comes as it was reported that the former president saw an increase in campaign fundraising after the mug shot.

Hi-Rez said he made the minute-and-a-half song in 30 minutes as “an absolute joke.”

While Trump has yet to comment on the video, his son Donald Trump Jr. called the song “hilarious.”

Why It’s Important: While this track uses an AI-generated Trump voice, a song using the real voice of Trump also charted earlier this year.

A song called "Justice for All" features individuals imprisoned in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol singing "The Star-Spangled Banner." The song includes Trump reciting the Pledge of Allegiance as the background track.

“Justice for All” previously hit the #1 spot on the iTunes chart, knocking Miley Cyrus from the top position.

The use of artificial intelligence mimicking real musicians has been a controversial topic, with a song that portrayed Drake and The Weeknd being shut down after going viral. Musician Grimes has flipped the script and encouraged people to use her voice in AI collaborations.
