Employees flew in from six of the firm’s Asia Pacific offices, namely Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Gurugram. Griffin, whose net worth sits at $35.4 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, covered the entire cost of travel, accommodation, meals, entertainment, and even childcare.

During his speech at the anniversary celebration on Saturday, Griffin noted, “Today, the range of talent we have brought together is simply astonishing. We’ve created not one, but two firms at the forefront of the industry. Together, we have imagined and built the future of finance.”

The celebration recognized Citadel’s 30th and Citadel Securities’ 20th anniversaries, which were not celebrated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, employees from the U.S., Canada, and Europe celebrated Citadel Securities’ 20th anniversary with a trip to Disney World and Universal Studios, alongside a Coldplay concert.
