Beyoncé To Donate $4M To Harris In Bid Against Trump: 'She Feels The Stakes Are Too High'

Vice President Kamala Harris has been using a Beyoncé song in her campaign for president in the 2024 election.

A new report says an official endorsement and fundraiser appearance could be next in the cards from the award-winning artist.

What Happened: Harris has been gaining momentum in 2024 election polls against former President Donald Trump and also securing key endorsements and donations from Hollywood figures and celebrities.

Beyoncé has not officially endorsed Harris for president, but the singer granting the vice president the use of her song "Freedom" for her campaign could be a subtle endorsement and a sign of what's to come.

A new report indicates Beyoncé is attending an upcoming Harris fundraiser and will donate $4 million to the campaign.  

"Beyoncé has cleared her schedule to attend a Kamala Harris fundraiser," a source told Daily Mail.

"She feels the stakes are too high and believes in Kamala's vision for America. She has set aside $4 million dollars to donate to the campaign, with plans to donate more if she sees the need to."

The potential move by Beyoncé would come after the singer has been vocal about several candidates in the past.

Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z hosted a fundraiser to campaign for Barack Obama in 2012. Beyoncé supported Joe Biden and Harris in the 2020 presidential election, even showing off a face mask featuring the duo's election campaign logo on Instagram. She also performed at Obama's Inaugural Ball in 2009 and sang the national anthem at his second inauguration in 2013.

The singer previously sang "Formation" at a Hillary Clinton 2016 election rally.

"I want my daughter to grow up seeing a woman leading the country," Beyoncé said at the time.

Why It's Important: Harris asked for permission to use "Freedom" for her 2024 election campaign and received quick permission from the singer's team, as reported by CNN.

Beyoncé is known for being selective about who can use her music, which suggests a strong likelihood of endorsement when her songs are used.

Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles has publicly endorsed Harris with an Instagram post, calling the vice president "new, youthful, sharp," and sharing a picture of herself with the vice president.

Harris disclosed in her tax filings that she accepted two tickets to a Beyoncé concert in 2023 valued at $1,655.92. The vice president and her husband Doug Emhoff attended the concert at FedEx Field in Maryland in August 2023.

The use of songs at political events has become a hot topic in recent years, with the band Journey having an internal argument about Trump being able to use the hit "Don't Stop Believin'." Multiple artists including The Village People, John Fogerty, Linkin Park, Elton John, The Roling Stones and R.E.M. have threatened Trump with legal action or disapproved with him using their music at campaign events.

An official endorsement by Beyoncé could resonate with younger voters, a key demographic for Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
