Bruce Springsteen is the latest celebrity to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for president in the 2024 election.
"I'm supporting Kamala Harris for president and Tim Walz for vice president," the "Boss" said on Instagram.
Springsteen joins a growing list of musicians who publicly endorse Harris. Others include Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Carole King, Barbra Streisand, John Legend, Foo Fighters, Lizzo and Linda Ronstadt.
The “Born to Run” and "Born in the U.S.A.” singer acknowledged that friends, fans and the media have asked him who he is voting for in this "most important of elections." And he didn’t mince words when it came to Republican nominee Donald Trump, calling him “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime.”
Trump's refusal to peacefully transfer power on Jan. 6, 2021 should “disqualify” him from running for office ever again, Springsteen said. "He doesn't understand the meaning of this country."

The 2024 election could be one of the most "consequential elections" in the nation's history, Springsteen said, citing how the country is politically and spiritually divided at levels not seen since the Civil War.
“But it doesn't have to be that way,” he added. "America is the most powerful nation on Earth."
Springsteen said freedom, social justice, equal opportunity, and the right to be in love with whoever you want are "things that make America great."
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer said Harris and Walz are committed to a vision of a country that includes everyone regardless of their race, sexual identity or class.
"That's the vision of America I've been writing about,” Springsteen said.
Springsteen added that he respects other people for having different opinions and knows that he only has one vote in the upcoming election, calling his vote one of the most precious things he has.
Springsteen's video brought strong reactions from Walz.
"Bruce – as a lifelong fan, I couldn't be more honored to have your support," Walz replied back to Springsteen's video message.
Springsteen's endorsement of a Democratic candidate won't come as a huge surprise. He has previously supported former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, as reported by Variety.
Springsteen was also part of the 2004 Vote for Change Tour that saw musicians host concerts in swing states to encourage voter sign-ups and push for John Kerry to defeat George W. Bush in the 2004 election.
The singer's comments about Trump being the "most dangerous candidate" in his lifetime could stand out. At the age of 75 and a birthday of Sept. 23, 1949, Springsteen has been able to vote in every presidential election since 1968.
