Former President Donald Trump celebrated a ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court that puts him back on the Colorado state ballot for the 2024 presidential election.
What Happened: The Supreme Court announced their ruling Monday, just one day before Super Tuesday when many states, including Colorado, will head to the polls in primary elections on March 5.
The U.S. Supreme Court heard the case in February.
The Colorado Supreme Court had previously ruled that quadruple-indicted Trump should be removed from the state ballot, citing the Insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment.
Speaking from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Trump shared his reaction to the Supreme Court's ruling Monday.
"I think it'll go a long way to bringing our country together," Trump said. "It's a very big day for America, very big day for liberty."
Trump said the Supreme Court ruled that you can't take somebody out of the race that an opponent wants out. Instead, it's up to the voters to decide who progresses in elections instead of the courts.
The former president, who faces 91 criminal counts, claims the courts are being weaponized against him.
Trump said he hopes Monday's decision provides a unified factor for the country and the case will be looked back at over the next 100 years.
"I have great respect for the Supreme Court,” he said.

What's Next: Trump also highlighted an upcoming ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court that will be heard on the topic of presidential immunity.
The former president faces allegations that he and his supporters tried to overturn the 2020 election results on Jan. 6, 2021. Trump claims that since he was president at the time, he has full immunity and should not be charged.
"They have to make decisions,” he said, referring to presidents. “Some decisions to make are very tough."
Without immunity, Trump says future presidents will be “afraid” to make decisions.
"A president has to be free,” he said.
Justices will review Trump's claim that he is protected by presidential immunity from criminal prosecution the week of April 22. Their decision is expected no later than June.
Lower courts already rejected the claim twice, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit that forcefully rejected the president's position.
Trump says he may have thought twice about making some of the decisions he did against ISIS if weren’t for what he considers guaranteed immunity.
In his speech, Trump also called on his political opponent, President Joe Biden, to “close the borders now,” citing that the country “is under siege” with "migrant crime."
It’s worth noting that just days ago, Biden visited the border and urged Congress to pass a bipartisan border security bill. Trump opposed the bill, and reportedly convinced Republicans in Congress to vote “no” on the legislation to undermine Biden.
“Join me or I’ll join you in telling Congress to pass this bipartisan border security bill. We can do it together,” Biden said on Feb. 29 referring to Trump. “So, instead of playing politics, why don’t we just get together and get it done.”
On Super Tuesday, Republicans in Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia will all go to the polls.
This represents the largest total of states and delegates available to the candidates, with around 36% of the 2024 primary delegates up for grabs.
