A rematch between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump could be decided by several groups including swing state voters, independent voters and young voters in the 2024 presidential election.
Biden may be targeting one of those voter categories with a new job posting.
What Happened: A push to ban TikTok could backfire and lead to younger voters choosing not to vote for Biden in the upcoming election.
To tackle the younger vote, the Biden for President campaign is hiring a new person to help appeal to this voter class.
A job posting on the political hiring site Daybook listed the Biden for President campaign hiring a "Partner Manager, Content and Meme Pages."
That's right, Biden's campaign team is officially hiring a meme manager.
"In this role, you will initiate and manage day-to-day operations in engaging the internet's top content and meme pages. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about bringing political content to voters where they already are on the internet," the job posting, which was shared by the Washington Times, said.
Listed under the responsibilities for the job are the following:
• Cultivate and manage relationships with top digital media companies, podcasters and meme pages across a number of social media platforms.
• Work independently with external partners to identify and land engagement opportunities and manage them from beginning to end.
• Engage internal teams and cross-functional partners to foster innovative ideas.
The job posting calls for a candidate to have two to four years experience in the video, media and entertainment fields. Candidates are also expected to have a deep understanding of digital media and identifying internet trends.
"Exceptional creativity in content ideation and strategy development is a must."
If you're reading the job posting and thinking you can post memes in your pajamas working from home, there’s bad news.
The full-time job is based in Wilmington, Delaware. The appropriate job candidate must be willing to relocate to the area according to the post.

Why It's Important: As social media platforms like X and Meta Platforms Inc META-owned Facebook and Instagram have become more prevalent for political candidates, Biden and his team have embraced memes more.
The Washington Times highlighted that Biden's campaign embraced the "Dark Brandon" meme was once used to attack the president.
Biden has also clapped back at attacks by Trump about the economy by posting videos celebrating the stock market reaching new milestones. The posts came after Trump said the stock market would crash if Biden won the 2020 election.
An April poll from the Institute of Politics at Harvard Kennedy School showed Biden with a 45% to 37% lead over Trump among voters aged 18-29. The lead grew from eight points to 18 points among voters when asked who they would vote for if Trump is found guilty in the hush money criminal trial.
A Morning Consult poll of voters aged 18-34 in April showed Trump and Biden tied at 41% each. Biden had 47% of the vote in December 2022 in the same poll and was in the lead for many months before the race tightened among young voters polled.
According to Statista, 55% of voters aged 18-29 voted in the 2020 election, which marked a significant increase from the 44% who turned out for the 2016 election. The peak voter turnout for the youth was 55.4% in 1972.
Biden won the 2020 election, while Trump won the 2016 election.
Younger voters have often voted Democratic, with a Politico report saying the last Republican to win the youth vote was George H. W. Bush in 1988. Since that time, there have been eight presidential elections. Democrats won five of the eight last elections.
In an election expected to be close, the youth vote could be more important than ever in deciding the winner.
