Benzinga’s Top Pre-Market Gainers (VVUS, OREX, ARNA, CENX)

Vivus, Inc VVUS soared 22.72% to $13.07 in the pre-market session. US drug regulators said today that VVUS weight loss drug Qnexa is effective in helping obese patients shed pounds. Orexigen Therapeutics, Inc OREX added 10.58% to $4.60 in pre-market trading. With the FDA admitting that VVUS’ weight loss drug Qnexa is effective for obese people, OREX’s similar drug stands a better chance of approval. Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc ARNA climbed 8.18% to $4.10 in the pre-market session. With the FDA admitting that VVUS’ Qnexa drug is effective in weight loss, ARNA’s similar drug stands a better chance of approval.
