A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

Pre-open movers US stock futures are lower this morning, after decline in commodity prices and global equity markets. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 64 points to 12,533.00 and futures on the S&P 500 stock index fell 7.40 points to 1,331.30. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 17.50 points to 2,376.00. A Peek Into Global Markets Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dipping 1.50%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 1.68% and China's Shanghai Composite declining 1.37%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.94% and India's Sensex dropped 1.34%. European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index has dropped 1.13%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 1.21%. Broker Recommendation Analysts at Bank of America upgraded Symantec SYMC from “underperform” to “neutral.” The target price for SYMC has been raised from $18 to $22.   • Kohl's Corp KSS released its first quarter results on Thursday. The retailer reported its quarterly earnings at $211 million, or $0.73 per share, versus $199 million, or $0.64 per share, in the year-earlier period. To read the full news, click here.
