Stocks To Watch For July 5

Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are: The New York Times Company NYT sold more than half of its minority ownership in the Boston Red Sox. NYT shares dropped 0.11% to close at $8.71 on Friday. Whirlpool Corp WHR said that the United States District Court of Delaware had expanded a jury decision that said certain LG refrigerators had infringed on Whirlpool Corporation's patented technology. WHR shares gained 1.80% to close at $82.78 on Friday. The US Food and Drug Administration approved a new lung drug by Novartis AG NVS, but in a lower dose. NVS shares rose 0.07% to close at $61.15 on Friday. Exxon Mobil Corp XOM estimated that between 750 to 1,000 barrels of oil may have leaked into the Yellowstone River in Montana from a damaged pipeline.
