Shares of O'Charley's Inc CHUX dropped about 1.3% after the company reported wider-than-expected second-quarter loss on Thursday. O'Charley's reported a quarterly loss of $1.8 million, or $0.09 per share, versus a loss of $2.5 million, or $0.12 per share, in the year-ago period. Its loss from continuing operations came in at $0.08 per share. Its revenue rose 1% y/y to $193.3 million from $190.9 million. However, analysts were expecting a loss of $0.05 per share on revenue of $189.6 million. O'Charley's projects third-quarter revenue of $185 million to $190 million, versus analysts' estimates of $186.5 million.
Shares of Ford Motor Company F gained about 1.1% after the company reported a 3% rise in its vehicle sales in China for July. Ford's vehicle sales in China came in at 32,320 units in July. For the January-July period, sales by Ford and its joint ventures rose 13% y/y to 306,830 units.
Shares of Arbitron Inc ARB gained about 1.8% after the company named Sean R. Creamer to the newly created position of Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer.
