U.S. Personal Income Might Rise By This Much In June, Here Are The Major Macro Issues For Friday

The Dow Jones jumped sharply by more than 300 points on Thursday despite Meta Platforms, Inc. META reporting weaker-than-expected earnings for its second quarter.

Below is a look at the major economic reports scheduled for release today.

  • Data on personal income and outlays for June will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Analysts expect personal income rising 0.5% in June, while personal consumption expenditures are likely to increase 0.2%.
  • The employment cost index for the second quarter is scheduled for release at 8:30 a.m. ET. After a 1.4% rise in the first quarter, analysts expect employment costs easing slightly to 1.1% in the second quarter.
  • The Chicago PMI for July will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET. Analysts expect an unchanged reading of 56.0 for July.
  • The University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index for July is scheduled for release at 10:00 a.m. ET. Consumer sentiment is projected to end the June month at 51.1, unchanged from the mid-month level.
  • The Baker Hughes North American rig count report for the latest week will be released at 1:00 p.m. ET.
  • Data on farm prices for June will be released at 3:00 p.m. ET.
