Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has publicly urged President Joe Biden to illuminate the White House with the Israeli flag, in response to the recent Hamas attack on Israel.
According to The Hill report, Graham requested that the Biden administration show solidarity with Israel by lighting up the White House with the Israeli flag. This appeal came in the wake of a surprise attack on Israel by the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, just a day after the 50th anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
Graham compared this gesture to instances when other iconic landmarks, such as the Sydney Opera House, 10 Downing Street, and the Brandenburg Gate, were lit up with the colors of the Israeli flag. He pointed out that even the Eiffel Tower, the Empire State Building, and a large screen in Kyiv displayed the Israeli flag in support of the nation.
"We have a chance to reset the world here," Graham added, highlighting that the U.S. should further intervene in international politics of crises like Ukraine-Russia, China-Taiwan and others.
The South Carolina senator insisted that a strong response is necessary if Hamas harms an American-Israeli hostage.
Graham further warned that the U.S.’s failure to aid Israel in its fight against Hamas and to continue supporting Ukraine could lead to global instability. He ended by urging the Biden administration to reconsider its approach to Iran, likening its effectiveness to their border policy.
