Asa Hutchinson Continues 2024 Presidential Bid: 'Will Make My Case That Donald Trump Is Not The Right Leader'

Presidential candidate Asa Hutchinson has stated his determination to continue his campaign, despite low polling numbers. The primary purpose of his bid is to caution Republicans about the potential risks of re-nominating Donald Trump.

According to a USA Today report, Hutchinson shared his views during a New Hampshire town hall.

“I’ll make my case that Donald Trump is not the right leader for our party and our country,” he told voters.

Despite not participating in the recent Republican debate due to low poll numbers, Hutchinson remains determined. He believes it’s up to the New Hampshire voters to decide the leadership they want.

Hutchinson, a former Arkansas governor, addressed several pressing policy issues. These include cracking down on illegal border crossings, combating opioid abuse, targeting drug cartels, and ensuring the future of Social Security and Medicare.

He further proposed a plan to change the rules of the House of Representatives to curb the influence of a small disruptive group. This comes after eight House Republicans recently ousted GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).

Despite being a long-shot candidate, Hutchinson has expressed his intent to continue his campaign till the New Hampshire primary in January. He plans to pay the filing fee soon, indicating his commitment to the race.

Hutchinson’s goal is to increase his polling numbers to 4% in an early state before Thanksgiving. If he achieves this, he remains in contention.
