Resilient Man Radiates Positivity After Grizzly Bear Mauling: 'The Most Disgusting French Kiss Of His Life'

A Montana hunter, brutally attacked by a grizzly bear, unveiled his reconstructed face after a 10-hour surgery, promising to “win Round 2” if he encounters the beast again.

According to a Fox News report, Rudy Noorlander‘s lower jaw and lip were rebuilt using his own leg bone and transplanted skin. This remarkable surgical procedure took place at the University of Utah hospital on Sep. 28th, 2023.

Noorlander, 61, was assisting a hunting party near Yellowstone National Park when he was attacked by a grizzly on Sep. 8th. The bear caught him off guard, and despite trying to fend it off, Noorlander was gravely injured.

After the attack, he was airlifted to Bozeman Health Deaconess Regional Medical Center, where he received immediate medical intervention. The hospital staff managed to create an airway through his trachea, enabling him to breathe despite his injuries.

The hunter plans to pen his harrowing experience himself and expressed hopes for actor Cole Hauser of “Yellowstone” to play his character in an on-screen adaptation.

Despite the traumatic experience, Noorlander remains optimistic. He looks forward to reuniting with his beloved Yorkshire terrier, Sully, and attending a football game. He also plans to return to his outdoor activities with his rental company, Alpine Adventures.

In a GoFundMe campaign aimed at covering her father’s medical bills, which has garnered over $65,000 as of Monday, Katelynn Noorlander Davis mentioned that the hunters had rented a number of ATVs from her father’s rental company at the resort. “The grizzly left a large scratch down his right chest, bit his arms, legs, and to top it all off, gave him as what Rudy describes as the most disgusting French kiss of his life before biting down and tearing off his lower jaw,” Katelynn Noorlander Davis wrote.
