Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) recently emphasized the necessity for every American to assert their unwavering support for Israel during the ongoing conflict with the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
As reported by The Hill, Cruz called for unity, insisting every American must affirm that “America stands with Israel 100 percent, for as long as it takes to utterly and completely defeat Hamas.”
Cruz urged the Biden administration to halt funding to Gaza and Iran, which have been under Hamas control since 2007. He recommended directing funds toward Israel’s defensive weaponry, including the Iron Dome.
The senator from Texas further denounced the demonization of Israel by Democrats and the media, asserting that “Hamas is using human shields and Israel has a right to defend itself.”
In the past week, the conflict between Israel and Hamas intensified, resulting in over 1,300 casualties, including civilians. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that Hamas has also taken 199 people hostage.
In response to the conflict, Israel launched a counterattack on Gaza, causing over 3,400 deaths and 12,000 injuries, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Israel also limited Gaza’s access to essential resources and ordered the evacuation of over 1.1 million Palestinians.
President Joe Biden swiftly expressed his "unwavering support" for Israel and has proposed billions in aid for Israel, Ukraine, and border security. He also confirmed $100 million in funding for aid to civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.
