Trump Holds Distinct Advantages Over Biden In Financial Well-Being And War Involvement: Poll Reveals

A  new poll published on Saturday indicates that former President Donald Trump holds distinct advantages over President Joe Biden among voters, particularly concerning financial well-being and war avoidance.

According to the CBS News poll, more voters predict better financial outcomes and a lower likelihood of war involvement if Trump wins the 2024 election. Biden’s Democratic base appears more uncertain, especially when it comes to financial security and war prevention.

Surprisingly, Democrats are less inclined to assert that they will vote. This speaks to the challenges Biden faces a year out from Election Day. Biden’s supporters have mostly expressed nervousness and frustration about a potential rematch, while Trump’s backers are hopeful and motivated.

Also, voters who feel financially worse off due to inflation and interest rate issues are supporting Trump overwhelmingly. Concerning foreign policy, Trump is more widely perceived as capable of reducing the chances of U.S. involvement in war and promoting global peace and stability.

The same poll reveals that American views about the country’s trajectory have worsened since the start of 2023 and have reached their most negative point as winter approaches.

Another crucial factor in the upcoming election is race, with most White Trump supporters believing racial minorities are favored over White people in today’s America. However, they believe that if Trump wins, he will attempt to treat everyone equally.

The poll was conducted with a nationally representative sample of 2,636 U.S. adults between Oct. 30 and Nov. 3, 2023, with a margin of error of ±2.6 points.
