Former First Lady Melania Trump hinted at a potential comeback to the campaign trail alongside her husband, Donald Trump, stirring up speculation about the 2024 presidential race. However, doubts have been cast on this possibility by a former aide.
What Happened: In response to queries about her involvement in the upcoming campaign, Melania intriguingly replied, “Stay tuned,” suggesting a potential reentry into the political arena.
Former close associate Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, known for her tell-all book on the Trumps, cautioned against reading too much into Melania’s statement. Wolkoff dismissed the significance of Melania’s comment, advising against high expectations.
"Let me interpret this for you," Wolkoff wrote on X. “Don’t hold your breathe [sic]!”
Why It Matters: Wolkoff, who had known Melania Trump for 15 years, played a significant role in organizing Donald Trump’s inauguration and served as an unpaid advisor to the then-first lady. After a falling out, she published the book “Melania and Me” and released embarrassing audio of her conversations with Melania Trump.
Despite recent speculation, Melania has maintained a low profile, notably absent from her husband’s legal proceedings. This has raised questions about her role in the upcoming campaign, especially given her preference for privacy over political events.
While Donald Trump has hinted at Melania’s increased presence in future campaigns, her limited public appearances and silence on his legal troubles have left her intentions unclear. This, coupled with her reported prioritization of family time, suggests a potential disinterest in returning to the spotlight.
According to Real Clear Politics, at the national level, Trump held 47.2% support among voters, While Biden trailed with 45.5% support.
