Trump Hush Money Trial Will Expose Truth About Ex-President, Says Political Analyst: 'He Lied About His Sex Life...His Vulnerabilities'

Former President Donald Trump is facing a new challenge in the ongoing legal battles against him. The upcoming criminal hush money case, in particular, is expected to reveal the truth about Trump’s past, potentially altering public perception of the former president, according to Nicolle Wallace.

What Happened: Wallace, MSNBC political analyst, on Monday, highlighted the civil property valuation fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James and the impending criminal hush money case led by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

“This is the big lie about who he is, who he was,” Wallace said.

“The notion that he lied about his wealth, that he lied about his sex life, that he lied about his vulnerabilities going into the 2016 election get to the very heart of whether people would have made the same choice if they had known this information.”

Legal analyst Lisa Rubin supported Wallace’s view, emphasizing the significance of the cases in revealing Trump’s true character. Rubin also noted the unique nature of the charges, including the use of a statute that targets individuals who falsify business records to aid a felony.

“The cases we’re dealing with now in New York are principally about who Donald Trump was before he was president,” Rubin added.

“The cases that are yet to come are about the type of person he transformed into having been that person all along as the President of the United States.”

Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, recently managed to get her client’s bond reduced, sparking speculation in Trump’s inner circle that he could potentially escape a guilty verdict in the hush money case with a “hung jury.”

Why It Matters: The hush money case is one of the many legal challenges Trump is currently facing. The trial date for this case has been set for April 15. This trial could have significant implications for Trump’s political future.

This marks the only criminal case against the former president set to begin ahead of the November general election according to the report. Trump faces 34 counts of falsifying business records related to an alleged payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Cohen has testified that he made payments to Daniels.

According to Real Clear Politics, at the national level, Trump held 46.6% support among voters, While Biden trailed with 44.9% support.
