Summary of April 26th Earnings (F, DAL, UPS, KO, MMM, OSIS, AKS, ITW)

Ford F posted first quarter net income of $2.6 billion, or $0.61 cents per share - a $466 million increase from the first quarter of 2010. Pre-tax operating profit was $2.8 billion, or $0.62 cents per share, an increase of $827 million from first quarter 2010. Ford posted a pre-tax operating profit for seven consecutive quarters. Delta's DAL net loss for the March 2011 quarter was $318 million, or $0.38 per diluted share, which includes $2 million of special items. Driven by the $610 million impact of 30% higher fuel prices, Delta's net loss was $128 million worse than the March 2010 quarter, excluding special items. United Parcel Service UPS reported strong earnings this morning, beating Wall Street consensus on the bottom line, and delivering margin growth, which many thought could not be achieved in light of rising gas prices.The company reported earnings of $0.88 per share on revenues of $12.58 billion, compared to Wall Street estimates of $0.85 per share on revenues of $12.72 billion. Coca-Cola KO reported earnings today. The company missed analysts' EPS estimates by only $0.01 and reported in-line revenues for the first quarter. 3M MMM beat EPS expectations today by $0.05, while revenues increased 15.2% year-over-year to $7.31B versus the Street's $6.95B estimate. OSI System OSIS Reports EPS of $0.48 vs. $0.47 Estimate; Revenues $175M vs. $167.64M Estimate. OSI also stayed above revenue consensus projected for FY11. AK Steel AKS Reports EPS of $0.08 vs. $(0.01) Estimate; Revenues $1.58B vs. $1.61B Estimate. The company also announced a $0.05 dividend estimated to be payed out early June. Illinois Tool Works ITW reported its Q1 profit at $623 million, or $1.24 per share, versus $334 million, or $0.66 per share, in the prior year period. ITW's total revenue increased 17% to $4.39 billion. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.85 per share on revenue of $4.18 billion.
