Graham Corporation GHM reported upbeat Q4 results on Friday. Graham reported its quarterly net income at $2.7 million, or $0.27 per, up from $0.6 million, or $0.06 per share, in the year-ago period. Its net sales surged 88% to $25.9 million from $13.8 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.21 per share on revenue of $23.8 million. Graham projects FY12 revenue of $95 to 105 million, versus analysts' estimates of $102.35 million.
Mentor Graphics MENT reported its Q1 EPS of $0.20, versus the estimates of $0.18. MENT reported its revenue of $230 million, versus the estimates of $227 million.
Seadrill Limited SDRL reported its first-quarter results and lifted its quarterly dividend. Seadrill posted its quarterly earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) at $430 million, up from $332 million, in the year-ago quarter. However, analysts expected earnings of $432 million. The Board of Seadrill increased the long-term quarterly dividend to $0.70 per share.
Shiloh Industries Inc SHLO reported its Q2 EPS of $0.20, versus the estimates of $0.24. SHLO reported its revenue of $137.0 million, versus the estimates of $133.70 million.
Tate & Lyle PLC TATYY reported a strong rise in its net profit for the year to March 31on Friday. Tate & Lyle's net profit jumped to 163 million pounds ($274 million), from 15 million pounds, in the year-earlier period. It reported an operating profit of 303 million pounds, versus a loss of 44 million pounds. The group's sales surged 7% to 2.72 billion pounds, from 2.53 billion pounds. Tate & Lyle raised its final dividend 5% to 16.9 pence, for a total full-year dividend of 23.7 pence.
Severn Trent Plc SVTRY reported a lower-than-expected decline in annual profit. Severn Trent's underlying pretax profit declined 14.7% to 288.6 million pounds ($460 million). However, analysts expected a profit of 276.7 million pounds. Its sales came in at 1.71 billion pounds, in line with expectations.
