Dow Jones Rises Above 12000

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose above the 12000 level today, a level not reached since March 14. Thus far, the Dow has risen almost 200 points, or 1.7%. The merger of AT&T T and T-Mobile USA attributed to the Dow's climb, as well as helping to push up shares of Verizon Communications VZ. The Dow Jones is not the only index to show an increase. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index rose 1.57%, or 20.11 points to 1,299.31. The NASDAQ Composite Index rose 2.04 %, or 53.95 points to 2,697.62.
