Global X Files Plans For Multi-Asset Class ETF

Global X, the fast-growing ETF issuer known for its unique commodities and emerging markets funds, has filed plans with the Securities and Exchange Commission to list a multi-asset class ETF that will be the firm's first fund to include fixed income instruments. The Global X Permanent ETF will include a mix of 60% equities and 40% bonds, according to Index Universe. The new ETF will track the Solactive Permanent Index. Looking at the new ETF's asset mix, the filing indicates it will feature an interesting mix of physical gold ETFs, REITs, large-cap value stocks, short-term and long-term U.S. Treasury bills and bonds and shares of energy, materials and mining firms. Global X noted in the filing that the ETF will rebalance at least twice a year, but the filing did not include a ticker and expense ratio for the ETF, nor it did say what exchange the ETF will list on. All Global X ETFs trade on the NYSE. The new Global X ETF could be a rival to the Guggenheim Multi-Asset Income ETF CVY and the Guggenheim International Multi-Asset Income ETF HGI, two of the more established multi-asset ETFs on the market today.
