AdvisorShares Alpha & Beta ETF to Debut Wednesday

AdvisorsShares, one of the largest issuers of actively managed ETFs, will introduce the AdvisorShares Global Alpha & Beta ETF RRGR on Wednesday July 10. Roger Nusbaum, Chief Investment Officer of Your Source Financial and the voice behind the eponymous "Random Roger" financial blog, will be the portfolio manager for the new ETF. The Global Alpha & Beta ETF will use a top-down perspective to focus on individual stock and asset class selection. RRGR will hold individual stocks, ETFs, and American Depository Receipts (ADRs). The new fund also will tactically add defensive investments using technical indicators such as the 200-day moving average of the S&P 500 Index and an inverted yield curve as big picture gauges to hedge against downward trending markets, according to a statement issued by AdvisorShares. RRG, which will be actively managed, will charge an annual expense ratio of of 1.4 percent according to the AdvisorShares web site. As of the start of July, AdvisorShares had 14 ETFs with about $605 million assets under management. Some of the firm's more popular funds include the Active Bear ETF HDGE and the Peritus High Yield ETF HYLD.
