On CNBC's &#8220;<a href="https://www.benzinga.com/topic/mad-money-lightning-round">Mad Money Lightning Round</a>,&#8221; Jim Cramer said he is worried about The Wendy&#8217;s Company (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WEN#NASDAQ">WEN</a>).
Cramer says it should not have a 7% yield, adding, &#8220;That, to me, suggests something may be wrong here.
Morgan Stanley analyst John Glass supported his view on Jan. 21, downgrading Wendy&#8217;s from Equal-Weight to Underweight and lowering the price target from $22 to $14.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Nu Is A &#8216;Really Hard&#8217; Company</h3>
Nu Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NU#NYSE">NU</a>) is a &#8220;really hard&#8221; company. Cramer added that he prefers SoFi Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/SOFI#NASDAQ">SOFI</a>) over the fintech firm.
Supporting his view, Citigroup analyst Ashwin Shirvaikar, on Dec. 2, downgraded the rating from Neutral to Sell on the stock and lowered its price <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/NU/analyst-ratings">target from $14.6 to $11</a>.
<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Other Stocks In Focus</h3>
TETRA Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TTI#NYSE">TTI</a>) is a &#8220;very good company, and it did come up from the ashes,&#8221; Cramer said. &#8220;As a matter of fact, it's come up so much, it's up 28% for the year, so I cannot sanction buying it.&#8221;
The company's stock also jumped more than 33% over the past month.
When asked about Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/ABT#NYSE">ABT</a>), he said, &#8220;I can't recommend anything on a straight line. But if it pulls back a couple bucks, though, it's good, because this should be one of the great pharma stories because it's got the best growth in device and pharmaceuticals.&#8221;
Abbott Laboratories, meanwhile, on Jan. 22, reported fourth-quarter sales of $10.97 billion, up 7.2% year over year, missing the consensus of $11.01 billion.
&#8220;This one has been around forever, and it just caught fire,&#8221; Cramer said when asked about Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/CWST#NASDAQ">CWST</a>). The &#8220;Mad Money&#8221; host added that although it's good he will go back to Waste Management, Inc. (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/WM#NYSE">WM</a>).
Adding support to his choice, Jefferies analyst Stephanie Moore, on Jan. 23, downgraded Casella Waste from Buy to Hold and lowered the price target from $115 to $113.

Meta&#8217;s monthly cash bonuses ranged from $10,000 to $50,000 to shift their videos to Instagram Reels, CNBC cites the Information. The deals last six months and obligate a creator to post a minimum of eight Instagram Reels per month.

Meta Wants To Leverage TikTok Ban Threat to Promote Instagram On Other Social Media, Offers Cash Deals

Aspen Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AZPN#NASDAQ">AZPN</a>) shares are trading higher premarket on Monday after the company inked a deal to be acquired by Emerson Electric Company (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/EMR#NYSE">EMR</a>) in an all-cash tender offer <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/25/01/n43223743/emerson-to-acquire-remaining-outstanding-shares-of-aspentech" rel="noreferrer noopener">for $265 per share</a>.
Emerson will make a tender offer to acquire all outstanding shares of AspenTech that it does not own, valuing the minority stake at $7.2 billion and valuing the total company at a fully diluted market capitalization of&nbsp;$17.0 billion&nbsp;with an enterprise value of&nbsp;$16.8 billion.
Emerson currently owns 57% of AspenTech&#8217;s shares following its 55% majority investment in 2022.
This will followed by a merger in which any untendered shares will also be converted into the right to receive $265.00 per share in cash.
The offer is contingent upon at least a majority of AspenTech&#8217;s common shares held by minority shareholders being tendered.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2025, subject to customary closing conditions.
Emerson plans to finance the deal through a combination of cash on hand and debt. Post closure, AspenTech&#8217;s common stock will be delisted from NASDAQ. Upon completion, AspenTech will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Emerson.
The transaction has been unanimously recommended for approval by a special committee of AspenTech&#8217;s Board of Directors formed to evaluate Emerson&#8217;s non-binding proposal made on November 5, 2024.
Notably, in November, Emerson proposed acquiring all remaining shares of&nbsp;Aspen Technology, which implied a fully diluted market capitalization of&nbsp;$15.3 billion&nbsp;and an <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/11/n41740121/emerson-announces-key-actions-to-complete-the-portfolio-transformation-to-an-industrial-technology" rel="noreferrer noopener">Enterprise Value of&nbsp;$15.1 billion.</a>
That time, Emerson&#8217;s proposal of $240 per share offered a 35% premium over AspenTech&#8217;s undisturbed share price of $177.84 on August 6, and an 8% premium above its 52-week high of $221.94 through&nbsp;August 6.

Emerson Electric To Buy Out AspenTech Minority Stake In $7.2 Billion Cash Deal

Nucor Corporation (NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/NUE#NYSE">NUE</a>) will release its fourth-quarter financial results, after the closing <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/NUE/earnings">bell, on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025.</a>
Analysts expect the Charlotte, North Carolina-based company to report quarterly earnings at 63 cents per share, down from $3.16 per share in the year-ago period. Nucor projects quarterly revenue of $6.73 billion, compared to $7.7 billion a year earlier, according to data from <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga Pro</a>.
With the recent buzz around Nucor, some investors may be eyeing potential gains from the company's dividends too. Currently, Nucor offers an annual dividend yield of 1.80%, which is a quarterly dividend amount of 55 cents per share ($2.20 a year).  
So, how can investors exploit its dividend yield to pocket a regular $500 monthly?
To earn $500 per month or $6,000 annually from dividends alone, you would need an investment of approximately $333,158 or around 2,727 shares. For a more modest $100 per month or $1,200 per year, you would need $66,583 or around 545 shares.
To calculate: Divide the desired annual income ($6,000 or $1,200) by the dividend ($2.20 in this case). So, $6,000 / $2.20 = 2,727 ($500 per month), and $1,200 / $2.20 = 545 shares ($100 per month).
Note that dividend yield can change on a rolling basis, as the dividend payment and the stock price both fluctuate over time.
How that works: The dividend yield is computed by dividing the annual dividend payment by the stock&#8217;s current price.
For example, if a stock pays an annual dividend of $2 and is currently priced at $50, the dividend yield would be 4% ($2/$50). However, if the stock price increases to $60, the dividend yield drops to 3.33% ($2/$60). Conversely, if the stock price falls to $40, the dividend yield rises to 5% ($2/$40).
Similarly, changes in the dividend payment can impact the yield. If a company increases its dividend, the yield will also increase, provided the stock price stays the same. Conversely, if the dividend payment decreases, so will the yield.
Price Action: Shares of Nucor gained 0.1% to close at $122.17 on Friday.

Cowen Inc. and Headset released their collaborative THC Tracker, a report authored by research analyst Vivien&nbsp;Azer, which analyzes cannabis sales trends across three legal U.S. markets. The report leverages Headset&rsquo;s point-of-sale data in Washington, Colorado and Oregon to glean quantitatively-derived and data-driven insights into the rapidly emerging legal consumer market for cannabis.

&ldquo;We are excited to announce our partnership with&nbsp;Cowen,&rdquo;&nbsp;said Cy Scott, CEO of Headset. &ldquo;Our analytics coupled with their research is helping both operators and investors understand the nuances of the cannabis industry and enabling them to make educated decisions based on deep data and forward thinking analysis.&rdquo;

The report goes into the rise of vapor pens, price deflation in different categories, and the descent of &ldquo;combustibles,&rdquo; or good old joints.
