Outlook Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/OTLK#NASDAQ">OTLK</a>) revealed preliminary topline results of NORSE EIGHT, the second of two clinical trials evaluating ONS-5010 in <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/11/g42210551/outlook-therapeutics-announces-preliminary-topline-results-of-norse-eight-clinical-trial" rel="noreferrer noopener">wet AMD patients</a>.
In the NORSE EIGHT trial, ONS-5010 did not meet the pre-specified noninferiority endpoint at week 8 set forth in the special protocol assessment (SPA) with the FDA.
The pre-specified noninferiority endpoint was measured by mean change in best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) from baseline to week 8.

The difference in the means between the ONS-5010 and Roche Holdings AG&#8217;s (OTC:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RHHBY#OTC">RHHBY</a>) Lucentis (ranibizumab) in the NORSE EIGHT trial was -2.257 BCVA letters, while the lower bound of the pre-specified noninferiority margin in the SPA was -3.5; the hypothesis of noninferiority was not met (p&gt;0.025).&nbsp;
In the intent-to-treat (ITT) primary dataset, NORSE EIGHT demonstrated a mean +4.2 letter improvement in BCVA in the ONS-5010 arm and +6.3 letter improvement in BCVA in the ranibizumab arm.
However, the preliminary data from the trial demonstrated an improvement in vision and the presence of biologic activity, as well as a continued favorable safety profile for ONS-5010.
Data analysis is ongoing as month 3 data from NORSE EIGHT are being collected. The data is expected to be available in January 2025.
Upon receipt of the full month 3 efficacy and safety results for NORSE EIGHT, Outlook Therapeutics plans to resubmit the U.S. marketing application for ONS-5010 in the first quarter of calendar 2025.
ONS-5010/Lytenava (bevacizumab gamma) has already been granted Marketing Authorization in the European Union and the U.K.
Outlook Therapeutics intends to continue efforts to launch in Europe in 2025, either directly or with a licensing partner.
If approved by the FDA, Outlook Therapeutics plans to commercialize ONS-5010/Lytenava (bevacizumab-vikg) directly in the U.S. It is also assessing partnering options for Lytenava (bevacizumab gamma) in Europe and other regions <a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/09/g40706252/outlook-therapeutics-announces-completion-of-enrollment-in-norse-eight-clinical-trial" rel="noreferrer noopener">outside of the U.S.</a>

Starting April 2025, patients suffering from chronic pain will have greater access to medical marijuana, according to a new decree from the Ministry of Health. Under the expanded access, general practitioners (GPs) in the country will be allowed to prescribe medical marijuana to registered patients with chronic pain, <a href="https://www.expats.cz/czech-news/article/czechia-takes-step-towards-laxer-cannabis-laws-with-new-bill">writes</a> Expats.
Ministry spokesperson Ondřej Jakob <a href="https://www.novinky.cz/clanek/domaci-ministerstvo-ustupuje-poptavce-po-konopi-na-bolest-ho-nove-predepisou-i-praktici-40498698">confirmed </a>to news outlets Novinky and Právo that the new rules are designed to simplify access."The decree allows GPs to prescribe medicinal cannabis for chronic, intractable pain."
Under the current law, only specialized doctors can prescribe cannabis, which is limiting for many patients. According to official data, roughly 8,000 people in the country use cannabis legally, but the demand is much higher. The National Drug Monitoring Center recently revealed results of its survey showing that about 600,000 Czechs use medical marijuana, and more than a million have tried it for self-treatment this year.
"It doesn't make sense that we can prescribe strong opiates like morphine but not medical cannabis," Dr. Petr Šonka, chairman of the Czech Association of General Practitioners, told Novinky. Šonka further stressed the importance of managing pain for terminal patients.
Furthermore, under the new rules, prescriptions will be valid for up to three months, and insurance will still cover 90% of the expense for up to 30 grams of marijuana per month. Coverage for cannabis extracts will also be expanded.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/AAPL#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) shares closed slightly <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/quote/AAPL">higher on Tuesday</a>.
Apple is reportedly changing its approach to software updates. The tech giant appears to be opting for staggered rollouts of new features instead of bundling everything into annual iOS releases.
In his latest weekly &#8220;Power On&#8221; newsletter, Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman said that Cupertino plans a significant update with iOS 18.4 <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/24/11/42183616/apple-could-delay-key-ios-19-features-plans-shifting-to-staggered-rollouts-with-2026-siri-overhaul-and-more">this spring</a>.
With the recent buzz around Apple, some investors may be eyeing potential gains from the company's dividends too. As of now, Apple offers an annual dividend yield of 0.43%, which is a quarterly dividend amount of 25 cents per share ($1.00 a year).
So, how can investors exploit its dividend yield to pocket a regular $500 monthly?
To earn $500 per month or $6,000 annually from dividends alone, you would need an investment of approximately $1,410,360 or around 6,000 shares. For a more modest $100 per month or $1,200 per year, you would need $282,072 or around 1,200 shares.
To calculate: Divide the desired annual income ($6,000 or $1,200) by the dividend ($1.00 in this case). So, $6,000 / $1.00 = 6,000 ($500 per month), and $1,200 / $1.00 = 1,200 shares ($100 per month).
Note that dividend yield can change on a rolling basis, as the dividend payment and the stock price both fluctuate over time.
How that works: The dividend yield is computed by dividing the annual dividend payment by the stock&#8217;s current price.
For example, if a stock pays an annual dividend of $2 and is currently priced at $50, the dividend yield would be 4% ($2/$50). However, if the stock price increases to $60, the dividend yield drops to 3.33% ($2/$60). Conversely, if the stock price falls to $40, the dividend yield rises to 5% ($2/$40).
Similarly, changes in the dividend payment can impact the yield. If a company increases its dividend, the yield will also increase, provided the stock price stays the same. Conversely, if the dividend payment decreases, so will the yield.
AAPL Price Action: Shares of Apple gained 0.9% to close at $235.06 on Tuesday.
