Currently, the SPY&nbsp;(ARCA: SPY) is trading around the 500.17 mark. Bulls are looking for an upward movement to 500.91 initially. If this level is surpassed with strong momentum, the next target is 503.95, which we hope will act as a robust support level. Holding above 503.95 could pave the way for a move towards 506.71, and our optimistic target for the bulls today is 508.34.
On the downside, if the SPY fails to maintain 500.17 as support, we anticipate a bearish descent towards 498.93. A confirmed break below this point could lead the price down to 496.93. Should selling pressure intensify, we expect further decline to 494.27, with the lowest bear target set at 492.39 for the day.
<h3>Invesco QQQ Trust Series 1 </h3>
The QQQ index&nbsp;(NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/qqq#NASDAQ">QQQ</a>) is positioning around 422.16. Bulls are aiming to sustain the price above 424.04, targeting 425.77 as a firm support level. If maintained, the buying momentum might push the price towards 426.64, potentially testing 427.32. The highest bull target for today is set at 428.50.
Conversely, if the QQQ cannot hold above 422.16, bears might take control, pushing the price down to 420.76. A breakdown from there could see a further dip to 419.19, and persistent selling might test 417.49. If this support gives way, the lowest bear target for the day is 416.23.
<h3>Apple Inc.</h3>

Bulls are eyeing 171.13 as a crucial support to hold, aiming for an upward trajectory towards 171.79 and potentially 172.45 if the upward momentum persists. The highest bull target for Apple today is 173.94.
Should Apple fail to keep 170.32 as support, the downside target is set at 168.99. Increasing sell-off could push the price further down to 168.00 and then to 167.09. A break below this level could lead to a test of the day&#39;s lowest bear target at 166.27.
<h3>Microsoft Corp.</h3>
Microsoft&nbsp;(NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/msft#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>) is being traded around 390.98. For bullish prospects, the aim is to maintain above 392.49, leading to a potential rally to 394.46. Holding this level could propel the stock towards 395.68, with a bull target of 400.30 for the day.
If Microsoft cannot sustain 390.98 as support, the bearish scenario involves a descent to 387.60. A break below this level might lead to further downside tests at 385.42, pushing towards 382.69. The lowest bear target for today is 381.64.
<h3>NVIDIA Corporation</h3>
NVIDIA (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/nvda#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) is hovering around 846.80. Bulls are looking to push the price to 852.61 and establish it as a solid support level. If successful, the next targets are 865.62 and 877.25, with a high bull target of 882.97 for the day.
If NVIDIA cannot maintain 846.80 as support, bears might drive the price down to 842.42. A failure there could see a further drop to 837.58 and, if selling pressure continues, a test of 833.50. The day&#39;s lowest bear target is 827.98.
<h3>Alphabet Inc Class A</h3>
Alphabet (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/googl#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) is currently positioned at 163.79. Bulls are aiming to secure 165.41 as support and push the price to 167.04. If bullish momentum continues, the target moves up to 169.34.
Should Alphabet&#39;s price fail to hold 163.79 as support, the bears are expected to push it down to 161.79. A break below this could bring 160.36 into play, with a further descent possibly leading to the lowest bear target of the day at 158.54.
<h3>Meta Platforms Inc</h3>

Xpeng Boss Welcomes Tesla's FSD China Entry With 'Open Arms,' Sees It Driving 'Entire Industry Forward'

XPeng Inc.&nbsp;(NYSE:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/XPEV#NYSE">XPEV</a>) shares are<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/premarket" rel="noreferrer noopener">&nbsp;trading lower on Wednesday.</a>
The Chinese rival of EV giant&nbsp;Tesla, Inc.&nbsp;(NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) said that 9,393 vehicles&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/pressreleases/24/05/g38542669/xpeng-announces-vehicle-delivery-results-for-april-2024" rel="noreferrer noopener">were delivered in April, a 33% increase year-on-year</a>. The metric inched up 4% over the prior month.&nbsp;&nbsp;
In April, the monthly active user penetration rate of XNGP in urban driving scenarios reached 82%.
In the press release, XPeng&nbsp;highlighted its network-based planning and control model, XPlanner, which enhances the human-like capabilities of its XNGP ADAS.&nbsp;
The XPENG X9 achieved monthly deliveries of 1,959 units in April, with cumulative deliveries nearing 10,000 units since its launch, maintaining its position as the top-selling all-electric MPV in China.&nbsp;
Year-to-date, XPENG has delivered 31,214 Smart EVs, a 23% increase year-on-year.
Additionally, XPENG has unveiled a sneak peek of the AI Valet Driver, which harnesses advanced AI for exceptional visual perception and control.&nbsp;This feature&nbsp;is capable of memorizing and customizing&nbsp;up to 10 driving routes, each spanning 100km, ensuring seamless nationwide coverage even when XNGP is unavailable.
In addition, XPENG has introduced its latest brand, MONA (Made of New AI), which&nbsp;is&nbsp;set&nbsp;to launch in June 2024.

Tesla Inc.&#8217;s stock (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>)&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/04/38485399/tesla-skyrockets-about-10-in-premarket-whats-fueling-the-dramatic-rally" rel="noreferrer noopener">saw a boost this week</a>&nbsp;on news of a potential full self-driving software rollout in China.&nbsp;Future Fund&#8216;s&nbsp;Gary Black&nbsp;weighed in Tuesday, highlighting the potential benefits for Tesla if the technology reaches this key market.
China FSD: A Big Boost, But Questions Remain
While Black acknowledges the difficulty of quantifying FSD&#8217;s value for Tesla, he emphasizes two key factors:

Black highlighted the significant electric vehicle (BEV) market in China, which sells 22 million vehicles annually, with 24% (roughly 5.2 million) being BEVs. He points out Tesla&#8217;s strong presence in China, with 610,000 BEVs sold in 2023 and 1.7 million units cumulatively since 2019.

Potential EPS Boost &amp; Valuation Impact
Black estimates that if just 10% of Tesla owners in China pay $1,000 annually for FSD, it could add 4 cents per share (EPS) to Tesla&#8217;s earnings. This EPS accretion could be significantly higher (16 cents per share) if Tesla licenses FSD to other BEV manufacturers in China.
&#8220;At a TSLA 2025 P/E of 50x that equates to $8/share in incremental valuation,&#8221; Black said.&nbsp;
If the China FSD take rate is 30%, incremental earnings per share could be as high as 48 cents per share, and incremental valuation could be $24 per share, he said.&nbsp;
Competition &amp; Regulatory Hurdles
However, Black acknowledges the presence of competitors like Baidu, whose&nbsp;Apollo Go&nbsp;robotaxis are already approved for operation in six major Chinese cities, with plans for expansion to 65 by the end of 2025. He questions whether&nbsp;Baidu&nbsp;would switch to Tesla FSD given their existing solution.

Analyst Opinions Diverge
Analyst opinions on the FSD rollout in China vary. BofA Securities&#8217;&nbsp;John Murphy&nbsp;estimates incremental annual revenue&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/04/38531925/tesla-set-to-boost-revenue-and-margins-with-china-breakthrough-analyst-predicts" rel="noreferrer noopener">of half a billion dollars</a>&nbsp;and earnings of $350 million for Tesla if 25% of Tesla owners adopt FSD. Murphy projects even higher earnings ($2.3 billion) by 2030 based on the same adoption rate and projected auto sales growth in China.
However, bearish analyst&nbsp;Gordon Johnson&nbsp;downplays the news, suggesting the announcement only allows Tesla vehicles into government compounds. He doubts China would approve FSD trained on U.S. data.

At the end of the first quarter, Tesla had 57,579 Supercharger connectors and 6,249 stations around the globe. The company also started opening its supercharger network in North America to rival EV makers including Ford and Rivian in February.
Why It Matters: Earlier this week, The Information reported that Tesla Senior Director of Charging Infrastructure&nbsp;Rebecca Tinucci&nbsp;will leave the company as of Tuesday morning. 
The report further added, citing a mail to other Tesla executives from Musk, that about 500 people will be laid off from Tinucci&#8217;s supercharger group. Some will also be reassigned, it said. 
The executive&#8217;s departure follows Tesla&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/04/38244436/breaking-tesla-said-to-be-laying-off-over-14-000-employees">decision to lay off 10% or 14,000</a> of its global workforce in a bid to cut costs and focus all efforts on <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/news/24/04/38286437/tesla-ceo-elon-musk-says-going-balls-to-the-wall-for-autonomous-driving-is-blindingly-obvious-as-eve">developing vehicle autonomy.</a>

Recent reports indicated that Tesla received China&#8217;s approval to launch its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology in the country.&nbsp;
China is the world&#8217;s largest automotive market in terms of new vehicle sales, and if confirmed, this approval will enable TSLA to deploy its FSD driver-assistance system there.&nbsp;
Murphy added that TSLA is also the only Western manufacturer&nbsp;to have&nbsp;been&nbsp;included&nbsp;in China&#8217;s list of companies that meet automotive data security requirements alongside domestic manufacturers.
Potential FSD revenue in China would be small relative to the sales TSLA generates from its vehicles. However, Murphy stated that it could be a more meaningful benefit to earnings as it could have a much higher margin.&nbsp;
According to IHS, TSLA has sold 1.6 million vehicles in China since entering the market. Assuming Tesla charges an amount similar to what it currently charges in the US ($99/month) and that ~25% of current TSLA owners decide to use the technology, this would add only around $0.5 billion in annual revenue. However, with a gross margin likely to exceed 70%, the earnings benefit could be ~$ $350 million (70% X ~$ $0.5 billion),&nbsp;as&nbsp;per the analyst.&nbsp;
Murphy said this number could increase meaningfully over time and, based on IHS projections for TSLA&#8217;s China auto sales, could be $2.3 billion in annual earnings by 2030 under the same assumptions.
The deal could enhance Tesla&#8217;s FSD&#8217;s capabilities, as the neural network&#8217;s learning and training may benefit from more experience and miles.&nbsp;
However, given the competitive nature of the auto industry, especially in China, the analyst flagged a risk that the deployment of FSD is a necessary feature rather than an incremental product consumers pay for, relegating FSD to the many advancements in auto tech that benefit consumers and not companies unless&nbsp;true&nbsp;level 4-5 autonomous capability&nbsp;is achieved&nbsp;ahead of others.
Competition&nbsp;is increasing&nbsp;from domestic manufacturers and FSD will help TSLA catch up to,&nbsp;and potentially exceed,&nbsp;other EV offerings on the market, as&nbsp;per Murphy.&nbsp;
Combined with recent price cuts in China (by 14,000 yuan, or ~$1,930), this could spur volume growth.&nbsp;
Murphy caveated this, however, by noting that growth in China EV sales slowed to 14.7% in the first quarter of 2024, the weakest since the second quarter of 2023.

Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) shares are trading lower Tuesday, pulling back after rallying more than 15% on Monday. What Happened: Tesla shares clocked their best day since March 2021 on Monday after the company made progress on its rollout of its full self-driving technology in China. 
Tesla CEO Elon Musk made a surprise visit to China over the weekend. The EV maker on Sunday announced that&nbsp;Chinese authorities removed restrictions&nbsp;on Tesla vehicles after the company passed data security requirements in China. Tesla is expected to partner with Baidu for mapping and navigation capabilities in the country. 
&#8220;Honored to meet with Premier Li Qiang. We have known each other now for many years, since early Shanghai days,&#8221; Musk said in an <a href="https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1784575094679011401?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1784575094679011401%7Ctwgr%5E2a7cd9c7fb8c79520520af8af6d93bdefef677af%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.benzinga.com%2Fmarkets%2Fequities%2F24%2F04%2F38485399%2Ftesla-skyrockets-about-10-in-premarket-whats-fueling-the-dramatic-rally">X post</a> over the weekend. 
Wedbush analyst&nbsp;Dan Ives&nbsp;called the announcement a &#8220;watershed moment&#8221; for Tesla. 
"Musk winning FSD approval in the key China market is a watershed moment for the Tesla story in our view. This news will be a major focus from investors this morning as it shows how close the FSD vision in China is to becoming a reality for Tesla,&#8221; Ives said.
The news comes less than a week after Tesla shares surged higher in the wake of the company&#8217;s first-quarter results. 
Despite missing analyst estimates on the top and bottom lines, Tesla shares got a lift from the company's accelerated timeline for the launch of new models and talk about the development of a next-gen vehicle. Musk also downplayed the quarter and reiterated his vision for the future of Tesla around AI, full self-driving and robotaxis.
&#8220;If somebody doesn&#8217;t believe&nbsp;Tesla&#8217;s going to solve autonomy, I think they should not be an investor in the company,&#8221;&nbsp;Musk said on the call. "We will, and we are."

Tesla Stock Is Trading Lower Tuesday: What's Going On?

The S&amp;P 500 logged its biggest weekly gain since November as Big Tech stocks rallied. With this, U.S. stocks pared their April losses on Apr 26. The S&amp;P 500 advanced 2.7% last week, the Dow Jones inched up 0.7% and the Nasdaq jumped 4.2%. Let&#39;s highlight the key events of the last week.
<h3>Best Week for &quot;Magnificent Seven&quot; Since November</h3>
The batch of tech giants known as the &quot;Magnificent Seven&quot; regained some of its momentum at the end of the week, following positive earnings reports from Google-parent Alphabet (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/googl#NASDAQ">GOOGL</a>) and Microsoft (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/msft#NASDAQ">MSFT</a>).
Alphabet which gained 11.3% last week on the back of upbeat earnings, became the fourth U.S. company to reach the $2-trillion market cap milestone. On the other hand, Facebook-parent Meta (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/meta#NASDAQ">META</a>) offered downbeat revenue guidance and saw shares slumping 9.4% last week. Tesla TSLA gained 19.7% on future affordable EV plans despite the Q1 miss.
Most tech companies&#39; promise to spend big on the AI revolution boosted the NVIDIA (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/nvda#NASDAQ">NVDA</a>) stock, which jumped 12.3% last week. Meanwhile, MSFT, Amazon (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/amzn#NASDAQ">AMZN</a>) and Apple (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/aapl#NASDAQ">AAPL</a>) recorded modest gains of 1.6%, 1.5% and 2.1%, respectively.
Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Tesla&nbsp;(NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/tsla#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) collectively added $686 billion in market value, in their strongest weekly performance since the week ending Nov 3, 2023, according to Dow Jones Market Data, as quoted on MarketWatch. However, despite last week&#39;s resurgence, both Apple and Tesla remain in negative territory for the year.
<h3>U.S. Economic Growth Slowed in Q1</h3>
The U.S. economy expanded at the slowest pace in two years, with GDP rising 1.6% annually in the first quarter, missing Wall Street expectations of a 2.4% increase. The growth reflects a clear slowdown from the 3.4% increase in the fourth quarter of 2023 and was also much lower than the 4.9% reported in the year-ago quarter.
<h3>U.S. Core PCE Inflation Rises Faster Than Expected</h3>
U.S. inflation, as measured by the change in the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) Price Index, rose to 2.7% on a yearly basis in March from 2.5% in February. This reading came in above the market expectation of 2.6%.
The core PCE Price Index, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, held steady at 2.8% on a yearly basis, surpassing analysts&#39; estimate of 2.6%.On a monthly basis, the PCE Price Index and the core PCE Price Index both rose 0.3%.
Core Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index surged 3.7% year over year in the first quarter. This topped estimates of 3.4% and marked a substantial increase from the 2% gain in the previous quarter. This surge in inflation raised doubts about the sooner-than-expected U.S. interest rate cuts.
The U.S. 10-year Treasury yield reached 4.70% on Apr 25, 2024, marking the first time since early November. However, the yield closed the week at 4.67%. Markets are now pricing in only one interest rate cut this year, reflecting a significant shift from the earlier projections. Powell&#39;s recent statements, which stress the need for &quot;greater confidence&quot; in the decline of inflation before considering rate cuts, also reinforced this sentiment.

5 ETF Winners of the Last Week

After the EV king, Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/tsla#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) reported its biggest revenue drop since 2012, along with a sinking profit, Stellantis N.V. (NYSE: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/stla#NYSE">STLA</a>) and Volkswagen AG (OTC: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/vwagy#OTC">VWAGY</a>) followed by reporting disappointing first quarter financials that reflected lower sales and higher costs. Plummeting sales and profit made the once-all-mighty&nbsp;Tesla promise more affordable EVs are coming early next year, if not later this year. Despite a slow start of the year, both Stellantis and Volkswagen have maintained their full year targets.
Despite disappointing Q1 results, Stellantis is betting on its new products portfolio.
For the January-March quarter,&nbsp;Stellantis&nbsp;reported revenue contracted 12% to&nbsp;41.7 billion euros, which adds up to about&nbsp;$44.6 billion.&nbsp;Stellantis&rsquo; results were weighed down by lower volumes,&nbsp;along with an unfavourable product mix and foreign exchange dynamics, with the European region performing worse than expected, in terms of volume, price and product mix. Moreover,&nbsp;shipments in North America, Stellantis&rsquo;&nbsp;largest market&nbsp;also contracted&nbsp;20%.
EV unit sales rose&nbsp;8%, but&nbsp;consolidated shipments&nbsp;overall&nbsp;dropped&nbsp;10%&nbsp;to&nbsp;1.335 million units.
CFO Natalie Knight&nbsp;attributed the drop in&nbsp;shipments and revenues&nbsp;to the&nbsp;transition to the group&#39;s new product portfolio&nbsp;which will be based on new platforms. To prepare, Stellantis was reducing inventories to reinforce&nbsp;its&nbsp;strong relative pricing ahead of&nbsp;its&nbsp;new or mid-cycle product launches, including&nbsp;RAM 1500 truck&nbsp;that is out already, and will be followed by&nbsp;low-cost EV Citroen eC3, Peugeot E3008 EV SUV and Jeep&#39;s Wagoneer S.&nbsp;Stellantis plans&nbsp;to launch25 new models this year,&nbsp;out which&nbsp;18&nbsp;are&nbsp;EVs.&nbsp;Stellantis is quite confident about its new lineup as it&nbsp;reiterated its&nbsp;full year&nbsp;guidance that includes&nbsp;double-digit margin on adjusted operating income, and&nbsp;a positive industrial free cash flow.
Despite a slump in profit, Volkswagen confidently maintained its full year targets.
Due to&nbsp;weaker demand for its premium brands&nbsp;that triggered a&nbsp;drop in sales, Volkswagen reported its profit plummeted 20%. For the first three months of the year,&nbsp;Volkswagen reported an operating profit of&nbsp;4.6 billion euros&nbsp;or&nbsp;$4.9 billion, as it was also hit by&nbsp;&ldquo;an unfavourable country, brand and model mix&rdquo;, along with higher fixed costs.
Vehicle sales&nbsp;dropped 2% to&nbsp;2.1 million units. But, Volkswagen also reiterated&nbsp;2024 financial targets&nbsp;that include a revenue rise of&nbsp;5%, along with&nbsp;a full-year operating margin&nbsp;in the range between&nbsp;7% and 7.5%.
2024 had a slow start, but that does not mean new adventures are not on the horizon.
Tesla bought some time by deciding to bring back affordable EVs on the menu. The EV slowdown is the new reality that even Tesla has to face, and innovation seems to be the key in navigating these challenging times. Things are even harder for traditional automakers who are undergoing their biggest-ever transformation. Fortunately, there are also smaller players who are helping uplevel the EV game with their innovative intellectual property, such as&nbsp;Worksport&nbsp;Ltd (NASDAQ: <a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/wksp#NASDAQ">WKSP</a>). However, sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) around the world are expected <a href="https://www.spglobal.com/mobility/en/research-analysis/2024-ev-forecast-the-supply-chain-charging-network-and-battery.html">to reach 13.3 million units</a> in 2024, up from 12% in 2023. They will account for 16.2% of all private car sales.



There were <a href="https://insideevs.com/news/711314/global-plugin-car-sales-january2024/#:~:text=In%20January%202024%2C%20global%20registrations,%2Dover%2Dyear%20growth%20rate.">more than a million EV sales</a> around the world in January 2024. Most of those sales happened in the U.S. As of now, there are <a href="https://www.iea.org/reports/global-ev-outlook-2024/trends-in-electric-cars#:~:text=Almost%2014%20million%20new%20electric,year%2Don%2Dyear%20increase.">more than 40 million electric cars</a> on the roads around the world. In 2022, 26 million EVs were sold, which shows how quickly they are becoming hot.



In this kind of market, one North American company is known for its competitive price and creative ways of boosting output and fixing money problems. 



At the same time, a Chinese market winner is quickly spreading around the world. In the past few months, this company has sold more batteries than any Western rival. 



And finally, a global tech giant is making more high-capacity batteries to help EVs run. This company wants to make more things in a lot more places, and they want all of their products to help electric vehicles and the energy economy.



<h2>Lion Electric (LEV)</h2>

Top-Rated EV Charging stocks"><div>Source: shutterstock.com/Dmytro_Yushchenko</div></div>Lion Electric (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/lev-stock-quote/">LEV</a>) starts this list of quality EV stocks, and its name might strike several investors as odd. it&rsquo;s not exactly a Tesla (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/tsla-stock-quote/">TSLA</a>) or a Nio (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/nio-stock-quote/">NIO</a>). LEV is a penny stock at 92 cents, yet it has a 206% upside.



In Q4 2023, <a href="https://news.futunn.com/en/post/38705666/earnings-call-summary-the-lion-electric-levus-q4-2023-earnings">LEV delivered 188 automobiles</a>, up from 174 in 2022. With 852 automobiles delivered in 2023, up from 519 in 2022, production and sales were excellent.



The firm lost $56.5 million in Q4 2023 and $103.8 million overall owing to heavy expenditure that outweighed revenue growth. Delivery and sales have slowed due to government subsidy delays complicating operations.



Lion Electric lost money in 2023 despite expanding sales due to manufacturing and raw material costs. To save money, <a href="https://www.truckingdive.com/news/lion-electric-layoffs-april-2024-120-workers/713880/#:~:text=The%20loss%20followed%20a%20%2412.9,its%20Saint%2DJerome%20manufacturing%20facility.">the corporation cut staff</a>, mainly on the Saint-Jerome night shift.



On a brighter note, Lion Electric <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/lion-electric-inaugurates-its-battery-manufacturing-factory-for-medium-and-heavy-duty-vehicles-301799083.html">established a Mirabel battery factory</a> to boost output. A $50 million government loan will support this project.



Moreover, Lion Electric wants to increase orders and deliveries in 2024 while decreasing costs and managing liquidity in a challenging market. The factory will certainly help.



Finally, <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/lion-awarded-38-million-part-221500023.html">Lion Electric won $38 million</a> from the EPA Clean School Bus Program. This financing will help U.S. school districts buy 97 electric school buses and charging infrastructure, decreasing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing zero-emission transportation. The government deal boosts its legitimacy among EV stocks.



<h2>BYD (BYDDF)</h2>

Schneider / Shutterstock</div></div>In China, BYD (OTCMKTS: <a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/byddf-stock-quote/">BYDDF</a>) <a href="https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/teslas-fourth-quarter-deliveries-beat-estimates-2024-01-02/">sold more electric cars</a> than Tesla (526,409 to 484,507) from October to December, <a href="https://www.tipranks.com/stocks/BYDDF/forecast">justifying its 22% upside</a> and strong buy rating.



EV sales went up by 48% in January 2024, according to BYD. The data indicates it, once again, pulled ahead of Tesla. This rise is due to exports, which shows that BYD has a world reach and it&rsquo;s now <a href="https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/byd-may-hand-back-top-ev-seller-title-tesla-after-q1-sales-decline-2024-04-02/">targeting 3.6 million unit sales</a> for 2024.



Powering forward, BYDDF is investing in battery technology by building its first sodium-ion battery plant. This <a href="https://autos.yahoo.com/tesla-rival-automaker-breaks-ground-023000699.html#:~:text=The%20world's%20largest%20electric%20vehicle,of%20capacity%20annually%2C%20Electrek%20reported.">$1.4 billion plant</a> will produce EV batteries that are smaller and cheaper than lithium-ion ones.



The <a href="https://electrek.co/2024/04/08/byd-launch-next-gen-ev-battery-more-range-lower-price/">next-generation Blade Battery</a>, set to come out in 2024, will increase range and drop costs by making BYD&rsquo;s EVs easier to obtain. This battery will use BYD&rsquo;s Electrok program to reduce the use of gas-powered cars.



At 2024 Dream Day, BYD <a href="https://www.byd.com/us/news-list/BYD-Showcased-Intelligence-Advancement-Dream-Day-2024.html">showed off its XUANJI Architecture</a> and Integrated Vehicle Intelligence. Using information and energy, this technology makes cars safer, more comfortable and better at what they do.



At the Indonesia International Motor Show 2024, BYD <a href="https://www.byd.com/us/news-list/BYD-Debuts-4-Models-at-Indonesia-International-Motor-Show-2024.html">showcased four cars</a> for the Indonesian market. This was part of the company&rsquo;s plan to expand worldwide and promote green transportation.



All in all, BYD is steadily improving battery technology, smart driving technologies, EV sales and market share among competitive EV stocks.



<h2>Panasonic (PCRFY)</h2>

The company is about to start mass production of a battery with a higher capacity, which will probably make EVs go farther and run better. Again, innumerable factors influence market outcomes &mdash; monetary policy being one of the biggest. But there&rsquo;s little skepticism that 3D printing stocks will reemerge as the industry becomes more affordable and widespread. 3D printing already has plenty of <a href="https://markforged.com/resources/blog/how-are-different-branches-of-the-us-military-using-additive">real-world applications,</a> and investors willing to wait for these three 3D printing stocks will be printing profit in years to come.



<h2>Desktop Metal (DM)</h2>

CEO Elon Musk committed to releasing a cheaper EV model by early 2025 during Tesla&rsquo;s Q1 earnings call. Tesla has taken a hammering from its competition, especially BYD (OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/byddy-stock-quote/">BYDDY</a>), which has effectively leveraged more affordable EVs to its advantage. Moreover, Musk also talked about effective cost management and the proposed reduction of Tesla&rsquo;s workforce by 10%.&nbsp;



Moreover, Tesla&nbsp;<a href="https://seekingalpha.com/news/4095351-teslas-watershed-moment-in-china-helps-lift-chinese-electric-vehicle-stocks" target="_blank">got the green signal</a>&nbsp;for its highly anticipated Full Self-Driving (<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/fsd-stock-quote/">FSD</a>) in China. According to Wedbush analyst Dan Ives, the company&rsquo;s valuation is closely linked to FSD and autonomous technologies. Following the approval in China, a critical piece of the FSD puzzle for the company is now complete.&nbsp;



<h2>Palantir Technologies (PLTR)</h2>

Big data giant Palantir saw its stock go parabolic over the last year, gaining almost 200%, dwarfing the S&amp;P 500&rsquo;s 22% gain.



The company has been in the AI and machine learning game for a long time, catering to the intelligence and defense sectors. Its Gotham platform, designed for public sector entities, has been its primary growth driver over the years. However, its Foundry platform, which serves commercial entities, has recently outpaced growth in its public sector platform. For instance, in the fourth quarter (Q4), <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/filings/pdf/17286011">its commercial segment was up 32%,</a> delivering $284 million in sales, beating its government segment, which was up just 5%, bringing $324 million. Moreover, its newest Artificial Intelligence Platform (<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/aip-stock-quote/">AIP</a>) witnessed a 70% jump in commercial sales year-over-year (YOY) in Q4, contributing to Palantir&rsquo;s first year of profitability.



Palantir expects to be profitable again this year, but analysts are concerned about its lofty price. However, given its solid positioning in the AI realm, it&rsquo;s tough to set a price target for the stock.



<h2>Shopify (SHOP)</h2>

In Q1 2024, Intel&rsquo;s sales growth trend is there, with first-quarter revenue increasing&nbsp;<a href="https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/_93461a48c376c1b819b1fcbdf5ff5193/intel/db/887/9014/earnings_release/Q1+24_EarningsRelease_FINAL.pdf" target="_blank">9% YOY to $12.7 billion</a>. This expansion shows the business can bring in a sizable amount of money. Several segments, including Intel Products and Intel Foundry, are responsible for the revenue increase. Intel Products&rsquo; sales increased by&nbsp;17% in the last year to $11.9 billion,&nbsp;indicating the strength of the company&rsquo;s product line.&nbsp;



Additionally, contributions from the client, data center, AI, networking, and edge sectors have diversified several business areas. For instance, Intel&rsquo;s supremacy in this developing area highlights the progressive launch of AI PCs. Over&nbsp;<a href="https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/_93461a48c376c1b819b1fcbdf5ff5193/intel/db/887/9014/earnings_release/Q1+24_EarningsRelease_FINAL.pdf" target="_blank">5 million systems&nbsp;</a>have&nbsp;been supplied&nbsp;since December 2023.&nbsp;



Following periods of recession or stagnation, there may be&nbsp;<a href="https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/_93461a48c376c1b819b1fcbdf5ff5193/intel/db/887/9014/prepared_remarks/Intel-Earnings-Call-042524-FINAL.pdf" target="_blank">cyclical recoveries</a>&nbsp;in NEX, Mobileye, and Altera.&nbsp;This&nbsp;suggests that these business categories are again enjoying better market circumstances. NEX stands for Intel&rsquo;s Network and Edge business unit, which includes edge computing and networking technologies. Lastly, Altera specializes in programmable logic chips, whereas Mobileye focuses on autonomous driving technologies.&nbsp;



Overall, the predicted recoveries in these categories point to rising demand for each company&rsquo;s corresponding goods, which boosts Intel&rsquo;s top-line growth.

Tech Tumble Opportunity: 3 Stocks to Snatch Up Before the Rebound

Is the Tesla (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/tsla-stock-quote/">TSLA</a>) tumble finally over? That&rsquo;s what many are asking, following the recent big rebound in Tesla stock, following potentially groundbreaking news regarding the EV maker&rsquo;s efforts to develop and commercialize its driver-assistance technology.



TSLA was already bouncing back prior to this announcement, but after the stock&rsquo;s April 29 rally, it has surged back towards the $200 per share price level. However, it&rsquo;s up for debate whether such a rapid move higher on this news is justified.



While indeed a positive for the company&rsquo;s future prospects, it&rsquo;s not likely to have an immediate impact on operating results. In the meantime, the issues affecting Tesla&rsquo;s fiscal and stock price performance in recent quarters have not gone away.



For those banking that the rebound will continue, beware. There is a high risk that this rally proves short-lived.



<h2>Tesla Stock China FSD Rally: An Overreaction?</h2>



Last weekend, Tesla CEO Elon Musk flew to China, in order to garner regulatory approval to offer the company&rsquo;s Full Self Driving (<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/fsd-stock-quote/">FSD</a>) driver-assistance technology to Chinese Tesla buyers. Less than a day after landing in Beijing, <a href="https://www.wsj.com/tech/tesla-wins-chinas-backing-for-driver-assistance-service-20816802?adobe_mc=MCMID%3D83425136438964627943546162755174077456%7CMCORGID%3DCB68E4BA55144CAA0A4C98A5%2540AdobeOrg%7CTS%3D1714468785">Musk got what he wanted</a>.



The market perceives FSD availability as something that could reverse weak demand trends for Tesla in what is the world&rsquo;s largest EV market. Hence, it&rsquo;s no surprise that Tesla stock experienced a very strong rally once this development was disseminated around the world.



Still, following its more than 15% climb higher on this news, Wells Fargo&rsquo;s Colin Langan is ringing the alarm bells, arguing that this rally is <a href="https://seekingalpha.com/news/4095786-teslas-big-rally-on-china-developments-is-called-overdone-by-wells-fargo">an overreaction</a>. In Langan&rsquo;s bearish response to the China FSD rally, the analyst points out that many of the details of this regulatory approval have yet to be revealed. 



Furthermore, rival Chinese EV makers have also rolled out advanced driver-assistance technology. Any sort of competitive edge from rolling out FSD in China may fall short of current expectations. All bets are off whether this latest TSLA rally continues in the coming trading days, but there are many continued challenges that may put shares back on a downward trajectory.



<h2>Lower-Priced Vehicle Launch: Another Possible Overreaction</h2>



As mentioned above, Tesla stock was already trending up when the FSD news broke. This was due to the company&rsquo;s release of its latest quarterly results on April 23. Earnings fell short of forecasts, and represented a steep decline compared to the prior year&rsquo;s quarter.



However, news of Tesla&rsquo;s plans to <a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/tesla-earnings-stock-prediction-rating-30d61f46?mod=md_stockoverview_news">speed up its rollout of lower-priced vehicles</a> countered this earnings miss. The automaker aims to begin selling these vehicles in early 2025 rather than late 2025. As I have argued in prior coverage of TSLA, lower-priced Teslas could be key to <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/02/tsla-stock-dont-expect-a-fast-charge-with-tesla-anytime-soon/">getting the company back into high-growth mode</a>.



Yet even as it&rsquo;s now more possible that a Tesla growth resurgence arrives in 2025 rather than 2026 or 2027, there are few other uncertainties surrounding whether the launch of lower-priced vehicles will translate into a growth bonanza. 



Other headwinds limiting EV market growth, like high interest rates and a lack of progress in extending EV range, may persist through 2025. In the nearer-term, these issues, as well as other existing issues like high competition in China, could continue to weigh on growth and margins. After the latest spate of good news, these negative factors may come back into focus.



<h2>The Verdict: Wait for Re-Entry</h2>



Don&rsquo;t get me wrong. Once the current rough patch in U.S. and Chinese EV demand eases, Tesla could get back to full charge. A resumption of sales and earnings growth, coupled with progress with its autonomous driving and robotaxi efforts, may just well drive an ultimate comeback for this &ldquo;Magnificent Seven&rdquo; stock.



However, before TSLA comes close to re-hitting $300 or even $400 per share, investor sentiment could temporarily shift back to bearish. A re-assessment of the China FSD news, plus further negative news about near-term demand, could drive this. While not certain, another round of turbulence could knock shares back down to their 52-week low.



With this in mind, even if you&rsquo;re bullish on a Tesla stock comeback, now is not the time to buy or hold. Sell into strength if you own it, stay away if you don&rsquo;t, and wait for re-entry.
