EV maker Rivian Automotive (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/RIVN#NASDAQ">RIVN</a>) has scrapped its return policy that allowed customers to return their <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/07/39595729/why-rivian-automotive-shares-are-gaining-tuesday">new vehicle </a>in 7 days if it does not meet their needs.
What Happened: Rivian previously allowed new customers to return their new vehicles within 7 days or 1000 miles if it doesn&#8217;t meet their needs. The webpage referring to the policy has now been taken down.
A Rivian spokesperson told <a href="https://pro.benzinga.com/dashboard">Benzinga</a> in a statement that the company launched the 7-day return policy to reassure customers who were unfamiliar with the brand and its products. However, since then, the company has scaled its network of Service Centers and demo drive fleet across the United States and Canada so that customers can test drive before purchase, they said.
The company now says on its website that Rivian vehicles do not have a return policy. The company instead urges customers to schedule demo drives and test the vehicle before making the purchase. 
&#8220;We encourage our customers to get behind the wheel by&nbsp;scheduling a demo drive. You'll also have the opportunity to do a vehicle walk-around with a delivery specialist prior to accepting delivery, and are covered by Rivian's industry-leading warranties,&#8221; the company support page now reads.
Why It Matters: Rivian currently has two vehicles in production, the R1T truck and the R1S SUV, both priced at around $70,000. The company has been accumulating losses for every vehicle it delivered until the first quarter of 2024 when it made a loss of nearly $39,000 for each of the 13,588 vehicles it sold.
Rivian is looking to turn its <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/analyst-ratings/analyst-color/24/07/39594501/from-volkswagen-partnership-to-trimming-costs-and-introducing-cheaper-evs-rivian-st">first-ever quarterly gross profit</a> in the fourth quarter of 2024 and has been making moves aimed at cutting costs. The possible cancellation of the return policy might also be aimed at that end.
Last month, Rivian announced its intent to form a joint venture with Volkswagen aimed at creating software-defined vehicle platforms to be used in both players&#8217; future electric vehicles starting in the second half of the decade.
As part of the <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/06/39559280/rivian-volkswagen-partnership-a-game-changer-says-one-analyst-a-mystery-says-another">terms of the deal</a>, Volkswagen will initially invest $1 billion in Rivian and then up to $4 billion until 2026. Both companies shall hold a 50% stake in the JV which is expected to be formed by the fourth quarter of 2024.&nbsp;

Trump Distances Himself From 'Project 2025' Amid Rising Controversy: 'I Know Nothing'

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:<a class="ticker" href="https://www.benzinga.com/stock/TSLA#NASDAQ">TSLA</a>) bull Gary Black on Friday raised his price target on the EV giant&#8217;s shares from $200 to $270 in addition to revising his estimates for the company&#8217;s <a href="https://www.benzinga.com/markets/equities/24/07/39595720/tesla-deliveries-fall-for-second-straight-quarter-but-stock-takes-off-as-q2-numbers-exceed-expec">full-year vehicle delivery volume</a> and earnings per share.
What Happened: The Future Fund Managing Partner increased his adjusted EPS (earnings per share) estimate for 2024 to $2.4 from $2.2 while adding that Tesla will likely deliver 1,707,000 vehicles for the whole year, down from the 1,808,581 units delivered in 2023.
Despite the increase, Black&#8217;s estimates are still behind Wall Street estimates of an adjusted EPS of $2.46 and deliveries of 1,804,000 units for the year. 
For 2030, however, Black is more optimistic. The analyst now estimates an adjusted EPS of $15 for Tesla in 2030, up from his previous $14.5 estimate, and much higher than Wall Street estimate of $12.

These include its recent addition of two ships to its fleet and its continued partnership with National Geographic, which will help it continue expanding its market reach worldwide.



Analysts believe Lindblad is poised to reward shareholders handsomely. For instance, its stock has a total of <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/lind">four ratings</a> on MarketWatch: three Buy ratings against just one neutral rating.



And investment firm <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/earnings-miss-cautious-full-2024-102907568.html">Ariel Investments sees</a> Lindblad&rsquo;s land-based business &ldquo;continuing to anchor the company&rsquo;s profitability,&rdquo; while Eric Wold of B.Riley Financial <a href="https://www.tipranks.com/news/blurbs/strategic-acquisitions-and-partnerships-propel-lindblab-expeditions-toward-market-leadership?utm_source=edition.cnn.com&amp;utm_medium=referral#google_vignette">reiterates a Buy rating</a> for LIND shares.&nbsp;

Whether you love it or hate it, setting sail on a cruise is undeniably a favorite vacation option for many travelers. <a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/consumer-discretionary/travel/cruise/">Cruise stocks</a> are equally polarizing and, like many <a href="https://investorplace.com/industries/consumer-discretionary/travel/">travel stocks</a>, tend to be better trades than long-term investments. However, as data points show that consumer spending is slowing down, is this a time to look for cruise stocks to buy on the dip?&nbsp;



Something for you to keep in mind as you make that decision is that cruises are often booked several months in advance. That means the vacation pictures you may see on social media in the months to represent sunken costs that may bear little reality to the current economic news. And the cruise lines cite solid booking levels well into 2025. &nbsp;



With that in mind, many cruise lines will likely post strong numbers independent of what happens in the broader economy. Here are three cruise stocks to buy on the dip. &nbsp;



<h2>Carnival (CCL)&nbsp;</h2>

High expectations are being placed on its June 25, 2024 earnings report. Investors will be looking to see if the company can keep reporting revenue that is not only higher year over year but also higher than 2019 levels. &nbsp;



Investors need to see that because Carnival took on perhaps the highest debt burdens of the cruise lines. Companies do not like to be leading in that category, particularly in the travel industry.&nbsp;



That debt is still likely to weigh on earnings for some time. However, the company reported a record level of bookings at <a href="https://www.carnivalcorp.com/static-files/6b8a504c-75da-4a32-9fae-e106c1c337a8" target="_blank">considerably higher prices</a>, which is one reason the company was able to pay down approximately $8 billion of debt during the quarter. &nbsp;



That&rsquo;s the kind of progress that has <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/06/the-3-best-cruise-stocks-to-buy-in-june-2024/" target="_blank">analysts bullish on CCL stock</a>. The consensus price target of $20.99 is 30% higher than the June 21, 2024 closing price. &nbsp;



<h2>Viking Holdings (VIK)&nbsp;</h2>

To amplify this, I present Viking Holdings (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/vik-stock-quote/">VIK</a>). This is a newcomer to the market; it&rsquo;s only been publicly trading since May 1, 2024, and is already up about 20%. However, the stock has dropped about 10% in the five days of trading ending June 21, 2024.&nbsp;



Viking&rsquo;s business model caters to the affluent and childless travelers who want to make the destination and not the ship the primary reason for traveling. Cruise ships don&rsquo;t permit passengers under 18 and don&rsquo;t have onboard casinos. The company&rsquo;s <a href="https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/_d2eabbad631141770d0deb474fe836e3/vikingcruises/db/947/9193/presentation/Earnings+Presentation.pdf" target="_blank">target audience is over 55 years of age</a>. &nbsp;



It&rsquo;s not for everyone. And if you call this a cynical play on a bifurcated economy, I won&rsquo;t debate it much. However, this demographic is least impacted by inflation today and will likely have disposable income to partake of the &ldquo;modern luxury&rdquo; Viking offers. &nbsp;



The <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/05/3-sorry-cruise-stocks-to-sell-in-may-while-you-still-can/" target="_blank">current valuation is high</a>. But with only one earnings report, it&rsquo;s too early to make any long-term judgments on VIK stock. &nbsp;



<h2>Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH)&nbsp;</h2>

NLCH stock is down about 13% in 2024, but analysts have a consensus Buy rating on the stock with an upside of about 20%. &nbsp;



Like Viking, Norwegian has its share of <a href="https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/_d87c0f33fa33a525133f7c45c558f217/nclhltd/db/1086/11470/pdf/Investor+Day+Deck+vF+Web.pdf" target="_blank">high-net-worth cruisers</a>. However, the company is also capturing another coveted demographic. According to Norwegian Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Harry Sommer, millennial and Gen-Z consumers are the <a href="https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/norwegian-cruise-line-ceo-says-millennials-and-gen-z-are-the-fastest-growing-segment/ar-BB1mJT7d" target="_blank">fastest-growing segment of the company&rsquo;s business</a>. That&rsquo;s particularly important because, unlike Carnival, Norwegian is not a budget-friendly option. &nbsp;



That does raise questions about how much a weaker consumer will impact the company. In its most recent earnings report, the company had a slight revenue miss but still came in much higher on a year-over-year basis. As the company adds capacity to its new fleet, it expects to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 6% through 2028. &nbsp;

Though Reddit (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/rddt-stock-quote/">RDDT</a>) may have been the most recent big-name IPO, the initial listings market is still cooking, and undervalued IPO stocks abound. The last undervalued IPO stock I picked at the <a href="https://investorplace.com/2024/06/penny-stocks-that-pack-a-punch-3-names-to-ride-for-10x-gains/">beginning of June,</a> Nano Nuclear Energy (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/nne-stock-quote/">NNE</a>), returned over 300% since I first noticed it, further proving that undervalued IPO stocks are out there if you know where to look.



In general, the wider IPO market is improving as the year&rsquo;s first half saw <a href="https://www.ey.com/en_gl/insights/ipo/trends">86 U.S.-based IPOs</a> raise nearly $18 billion, a 12% and 67% improvement, respectively, compared to 2024&rsquo;s first half. That does, of course, still pale compared to 2021&rsquo;s shockingly high IPO rates that raised more than $450 globally, but still far better than last year as economic conditions soften. This, of course, benefits undervalued IPO stocks as many still shy away from their inherent &ldquo;opening day&rdquo; risk. These undervalued IPOs often fly under the radar as investors focus primarily on tech and mega-caps &mdash; but that doesn&rsquo;t detract from their long-term upside.



<h2>Viking Holdings (VIK)</h2>

The cruise liner stock accomplishes this with a fleet of almost 100 small, high-tech ships. Viking is the largest undervalued IPO stock on our list at a $14.35 billion market cap and the company&rsquo;s shares jumped nearly 40% since first listing in May.



The company&rsquo;s <a href="https://d1io3yog0oux5.cloudfront.net/_d2eabbad631141770d0deb474fe836e3/vikingcruises/db/947/9193/presentation/Earnings+Presentation.pdf">waterborne operations</a> primarily focus on river boating, with 80 existing vessels and 18 more to be delivered in the next two years. But Viking is increasing its oceanic presence and will augment its existing nine seafaring ships with eight more by the end of the decade. Viking seeks to differentiate itself from most cruise liners, which emphasizes partying and ship-centric activities rather than destination arrival. A generally youth-skewing crowd says that &ldquo;Vikings are contrarians, and hence, from the beginning, the vision has been to build a different cruise line.&rdquo; This led Viking to emphasize &ldquo;quiet, understated elegance&rdquo; and a destination focus that targets older demographics of 55+.



Viking&rsquo;s financials already point to a sector-wide turnaround, with revenue improving 14% year-over-year between the first quarters of 2024 and 2023. Expect these tailwinds to continue as the undervalued IPO stock sets sail.



<h2>Proficient Auto Logistics (PAL)</h2>

The company&rsquo;s IPO is unique in that it was a merger of five existing companies under a single umbrella that went public, with shares climbing about 8% since the IPO.



Proficient Auto&rsquo;s <a href="https://proficientautologistics.com/investor-relations/">customer list</a> is a who&rsquo;s who of manufacturers and includes Tesla (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/tsla-stock-quote/">TSLA</a>), General Motors (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/gm-stock-quote/">GM</a>), Stellantis (NYSE:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/stla-stock-quote/">STLA</a>) and Rivian (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/rivn-stock-quote/">RIVN</a>). Though some car manufacturers, like Tesla, prefer to vertically integrate their value chain as much as possible, logistics of this type tends to be a bridge too far from a pricing and resource management perspective, so Proficient Auto has plenty of business in its future.



Proficient saw its net deliveries slump in 2023 amid labor strikes at General Motors and Stellantis and generally reduced consumer interest in car purchases. But that downward trend is already reversing as the company&rsquo;s total units delivered increased by 2% in this year&rsquo;s <a href="https://proficientautologistics.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Earnings-Release-for-Website.pdf">first quarter</a> report &mdash; expect that upward momentum to continue throughout the year as Proficient realizes synergies it created through combining multiple companies and generally improving its own internal processes.



<h2>KindlyMD (KDLY)</h2>

However, its small size makes KindlyMD&rsquo;s undervalued IPO prospects more appealing. The company operates at the forefront of two unique trends: medical cannabis, which is ready to boom, and <a href="https://kindlymd.com/about-us/">holistic treatments</a> that blend prescription medication, behavioral and mental therapy and alternative solutions that &ldquo;treat the whole person, not just their symptoms.&rdquo;



KindlyMD&rsquo;s first <a href="https://feeds.issuerdirect.com/news-release.html?newsid=8925359497374292">earnings report</a> came shortly after its IPO, and top-line numbers were considerably low at just $829,000 in revenue. But that slim sales stat is, practically speaking, a short-term hurdle toward long-term success. Specifically, KindlyMD hit a range of benchmarks that all but assure expansion and growth in the coming years. That includes becoming Utah&rsquo;s first alternative medicine company to contract under the state&rsquo;s insurance, including Medicare/Medicaid. It contracted with mega-insurer federation Blue Cross Blue Shield and secured 16% of Utah&rsquo;s current total addressable medical cannabis market. Better yet, for cannabis stock enthusiasts, KindlyMD and Curaleaf (OTCMKTS:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/curlf-stock-quote/">CURLF</a>) started a <a href="https://www.marketscreener.com/quote/stock/KINDLY-MD-INC-170748083/news/KindlyMD-Collaborates-with-Curaleaf-to-Expand-Patient-Education-on-Medical-Cannabis-Care-in-Utah-46945278/">collaboration</a> to expand awareness of alternative treatment opportunities throughout Utah.

More about the company will be known when it issues its next financial results in late August. But this new travel stock certainly looks promising.



<h2>Airbnb (ABNB)</h2>

The homestay and short-term rental company&rsquo;s share price has gained 14% so far this year as it recovers from the <a href="https://www.barrons.com/articles/airbnb-stock-turbulence-buy-a8e0e93b">ravages of the pandemic</a> and grows both its sales and profits. 



For this year&rsquo;s first quarter, Airbnb posted EPS of 41 cents, which was well ahead of a consensus estimate of 24 cents. The quarterly profit was up 126% from a year ago and the company&rsquo;s best first quarter ever.



Revenue in Q1 totaled $2.14 billion, ahead of Wall Street forecasts of $2.06 billion. Sales were up 18% from a year earlier. <a href="https://apnews.com/article/airbnb-earnings-96b3b8f54a64d20ae6f94d3730592d86">Gross bookings in the quarter</a> were up 12% year-over-year (YOY), while nights and experiences booked rose 10%. Airbnb&rsquo;s free cash flow at the end of the quarter totaled $1.90 billion, up 21% from the same period in 2023. 



By all accounts, it was a blowout quarter and showed the company is benefitting from the <a href="https://www.fool.com/investing/2024/03/18/3-reasons-to-buy-airbnb-stock-today/">resumption of travel</a>, both in the U.S. and overseas.



<h2>American Airlines (AAL)</h2>

Shares of American Airlines (NASDAQ:<a href="https://investorplace.com/stock-quotes/aal-stock-quote/">AAL</a>), the world&rsquo;s largest carrier, are down nearly 40% over the last 12 months and trading near a 52-week low. This presents an opportunity for investors, particularly ones with a long time horizon. AAL stock is down after the airline <a href="https://www.baystreet.ca/stockstowatch/18090/American-Airlines-Stock-Falls-8-On-Lowered-Guidance">lowered its sales and profit guidance</a> as it grapples with a slump in business travel.



Also, American Airlines recently announced that its Chief Commercial Officer (CEO) Vasu Raja was leaving the company at the end of June. News of the lowered guidance and <a href="https://www.marketwatch.com/story/american-airlines-drops-its-upbeat-profit-guidance-and-stock-drops-8-3bf63f05">executive departure</a> has sent AAL stock spiraling lower. The problem is a decline of corporate customers and business travel, something American Airlines has struggled to reignite since the end of the pandemic.



The good news is that management has a plan. CEO Robert Isom has said that American Airlines plans to modify its <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/american-airlines-ceo-admits-ticket-sales-strategy-change-mistake-2024-5">ticket distribution strategy</a> to drive bookings to its own platforms instead of third-party channels. That strategy could help the company and its stock recover. Investors who take a position in AAL stock now might be patting themselves on the back down the road.
