Ross Stores Inc ROST reported its Q1 profit at $173 million, or $1.48 per share, versus $142.3 million, or $1.16 per share, in the year-earlier period. However, analysts were expecting a loss of $1.22 per share on revenue of $9.73 billion. Flowers Foods Inc FLO reported its Q1 EPS of $0.5, versus the estimates of $0.46. FLO reported its revenue of $801.8 million, versus the estimates of $820.19 million. GameStop Corp GME reported its Q1 profit at $80.4 million, or $0.56 per share, versus $75.2 million, or $0.48 per share, in the year-earlier period. Dollar Tree Inc DLTR reported upbeat results for the first quarter. Dollar Tree reported its quarterly profit at $101 million, or $0.82 per share, versus $63.6 million, or $0.49 per share, in the year-earlier period. The company's sales surged to $1.55 billion from $1.35 billion. Its comparable store sales jumped 7.1%. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.75 per share. Dollar Tree projects its Q2 profit of $0.68 to $0.75 per share. For the year, the company lifted its earnings guidance to $3.69 to $3.85 per share, from its earlier guidance of $3.55 to $3.76 per share. However, analysts expected earnings of $0.73 per share for the second quarter and $3.74 per share for the year. SABMiller PLC SBMRY reported a 26% rise in its fiscal 2011 net profit on Thursday. The group's profit rose to $2.41 billion, from $1.91 billion, in the year-earlier period. Its revenue climbed 7.7% to $19.41 billion. CDC Software Corp CDCS reported its Q1 EPS of $0.11, versus the estimates of $0.17. CDCS reported its revenue of $52.6 million, versus the estimates of $52.13 million. Cato Corp CATO reported its Q1 EPS of $1.04, versus the estimates of $1.01. CATO reported its revenue of $270.9 million, versus the estimates of $263.6 million. Stage Stores Inc SSI swung to a first-quarter loss from a year-earlier profit.
