Stocks To Watch For June 1

Some of the stocks that may grab investor focus today are: Wall Street expects Dollar General Corporation DG to report its Q1 EPS at $0.50 on revenue of $3.42 billion. DG shares surged 0.66% to $35.30 in after-hours trading. Phillips-Van Heusen Corp PVH reported upbeat first-quarter earnings and lifted its full-year outlook. PVH reported its quarterly earnings at $1.23 per share on a non-GAAP basis, on revenue of $1.37 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $1.16 per share on revenue of $1.34 billion. For the year, PVH now projects adjusted earnings of $4.80 to $5 per share on revenue of $5.7 billion to $5.75 billion. However, analysts expected earnings of $4.90 per share on revenue of $5.66 billion. PVH shares rose 2% to $67.29 in the after-hours trading session. Yahoo Inc YHOO reached an agreement with Alibaba Group ALBCF over the ownership of Alipay, according to a person familiar with the matter. Mediatek announced its plans to tie up with YHOO to embed Yahoo's services into its chips. YHOO shares dropped 1.09% to $16.37 in after-hours trading, while ALBCF shares gained 1.83% to close at $1.67 yesterday. Analysts expect Copart Inc CPRT to post its FQ3 EPS at $0.70 on revenue of $241.56 million. CPRT shares dropped 0.01% to $47.00 in the after-hours trading session. Lions Gate Entertainment Corp LGF swung to a profit in its fiscal fourth quarter. Lions Gate reported its quarterly net income at $46.2 million, or $0.33 per share, versus a loss of $22.3 million, or $0.19 per share, in the year-earlier quarter. Its revenue dropped 6% to $376.9 million. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.18 per share on revenue of $400.07 million. LGF shares gained 0.84% to $5.98 in after-hours trading.
