A Peek Into The Market Before The Trading Starts

US stock futures are lower this morning, as the nation's debt ceiling talks failed to progress. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 95 points to 12,526.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 9.80 points to 1,330.20. Nasdaq 100 futures dropped 14.75 points to 2,413.25.

European markets were lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index dropped 0.22%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.16%, French CAC 40 index fell 0.24% and German DAX 30 index dropped 0.05%. Most Asian markets ended lower, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average gaining 1.22%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 1.50% and China's Shanghai Composite dropping 2.96%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.6750% and India's Sensex surged 0.80%.

Analysts at Credit Suisse upgraded Mindray Medical International Limited

from “neutral” to “outperform.” The target price for Mindray Medical has been raised from $29 to $32. Mindray Medical shares fell 0.77% to close at $26.95 on Friday.
