Duke Energy DUK swung to a profit in the second quarter.
Duke Energy reported a quarterly profit at $435 million, or $0.33 per share, versus a loss of $222 million, or $0.17 per share, in the year-earlier period. Duke Energy's adjusted net income came in at $0.33 per share. Its operating revenue climbed to $3.53 billion from $3.29 billion. However, analysts were expecting earnings of $0.30 per share on revenue of $3.32 billion.
Duke Energy shares gained 1.34% to $18.95 in pre-market trading.
