Its revenue surged to Y210.13 billion from Y206.69 billion. Dai-ichi Life Insurance Co DCNSF reported a 19% drop in its net profit in the April-December period. Dai-ichi Life's quarterly net profit fell to Y12.71 billion, from Y15.70 billion, in the year-ago period. Its revenue rose 5.7% to Y3.597 trillion, versus Y3.402 trillion. For the fiscal year ending March, the company continues to project a net profit of Y20 billion on revenue of Y4.780 trillion. Anglo American Platinum Ltd AGPPY reported a decline in its 2011 output and profit. Anglo American Platinum's refined platinum production fell 2% y/y to 2.53 million ounces. It plans to refine between 2.5 million and 2.6 million ounces in 2012, versus its earlier forecast of 2.7 million ounces. Anglo American Platinum's profit attributable to shareholders dropped to 3.591 billion rand, from ZAR9.959 billion, in the year-ago period. Songa Offshore SE SGAZF reported a decline in its net profit for the fourth quarter. Songa Offshore's quarterly net profit fell to $35.77 million, from $93.29 million, in the year-earlier period. Its operating revenue dropped to $96.25 million from $159.13 million. Songa Offshore's EBITDA fell to $23.99 million, from $130.06 million. India's Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd reported a 91% rise in its Q3 net profit. Sun Pharmaceutical's quarterly net profit climbed to INR6.68 billion, from INR3.50 billion, in the year-ago period. Its sales surged 37% to INR21.45 billion from INR15.62 billion. Analysts were expecting a net profit of INR5.47 billion. Canacol Energy Ltd CAAEF reported a narrower Q2 loss. Canacol Energy posted a quarterly net loss of $2.4 million, versus a year-ago net loss of $14.9 million. Canacol Energy's total revenue surged to $55.2 million.
