Economic Data Scheduled For Friday

  • Data on retail sales for December will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Sales slowed in November to 0.3% monthly gains. For December, no change is expected in retail sales.
  • Data on import prices and export prices for December will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. Analysts expect import prices rising 0.3% in December, while export prices might increase 0.4%.
  • Data on industrial production for December will be released at 9:15 a.m. ET. Analysts expect industrial production rising 0.3% in December following a 0.5% increase a month ago.
  • Data on business inventories for November will be released at 10:00 a.m. ET. Business inventories are expected to increase 1.1% in November following a 1.2% rise in the previous month.
  • The University of Michigan's consumer sentiment index for January is scheduled for release at 10:00 a.m. ET. Analysts expect consumer sentiment declining slightly to 70.4 in January from 70.6 in December.
  • Philadelphia Fed President Patrick Harker is set to speak at 10:00 a.m. ET.
  • New York Fed President John Williams will speak at 10:00 a.m. ET.
  • The Baker Hughes North American rig count report for the latest week is scheduled for release at 1:00 p.m. ET.
