US stock futures are slightly higher this morning, ahead of economic data. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 10 points to 13,117.00 and S&P 500 index futures rose 1.70 points to 1,410.00. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 4.50 points to 2,787.25. US stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping 0.25% to 13,124.67, the S&P 500 index falling 0.05% to 1,410.44 and the Nasdaq 100 index gaining 0.11% to 3,073.19. The Case-Shiller home price index for the month of June will be released at 9 a.m. ET. Data on August consumer-confidence will be released at 10 a.m. ET. Perfect World Co

Asian markets ended mixed, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average dropping 0.57%, China's Shanghai Composite rising 0.85% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.32%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 0.07% and India's Sensex fell 0.27%. Nymex crude-oil futures gained $0.63 to trade at $96.10 a barrel, while gold futures fell $10.60 to $1,665 an ounce. The dollar index (DXY) declined 0.28% to trade at 81.42, versus 81.696 in North American trade late Monday. The euro gained 0.46% versus the dollar to trade at $1.2556, versus $1.2500. The US dollar fell 0.1% versus the Japanese yen to trade at ¥78.68, down from ¥78.78.
