- Veris Residential, Inc. VRE gained 23.3% to close at $15.31 after Kushner Companies made an offer to acquire the company for $16 per share.
- The Boston Beer Company, Inc. SAM surged 19.7% to close at $402.28 after the company reported better-than-expected Q3 adjusted EPS and sales results.
- Biohaven Ltd. BHVN rose 17.7% to close at $14.08. Biohaven reported pricing of public offering of 25 million common shares at a price of $10.50 per share.
- Pacific Biosciences of California, Inc. PACB rose 16.3% to close at $7.77.
- Microvast Holdings, Inc. MVST surged 13.1% to close at $2.50.
- Novavax, Inc. NVAX gained 12.6% to close at $19.34 in sympathy with Pfizer, which is reportedly thinking about increasing the price for COVID-19 boosters.
- Atara Biotherapeutics, Inc. ATRA jumped 12.5% to close at $4.23
- Piedmont Lithium Inc. PLL rose 12.1% to close at $60.02.
- 1st Source Corporation SRCE gained 12.1% to close at $55.89.
- BioNTech SE BNTX climbed 11.2% to close at $131.64 following reports suggesting vaccine makers could possibly raise the prices of COVID-19 shots.
- BancFirst Corporation BANF rose 10.4% to close at $100.71 after the company reported Q3 EPS results were higher year over year.
- Schlumberger Limited SLB gained 10.3% to close at $50.41 following upbeat quarterly earnings.
- Huntington Bancshares Incorporated HBAN gained 9.5% to close at $14.45 after the company reported better-than-expected Q3 EPS results.
- Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. HA shares gained 8.9% to close at $15.33. Hawaiian Airlines announced an agreement with Amazon to operate freighter aircraft.
- Steel Dynamics, Inc. STLD rose 8.5% to close at $92.92 on continued strength after the company, on Thursday, reported better-than-expected Q3 EPS and sales results.
- Moderna, Inc. MRNA surged 8.4% to close at $128.32 after SVB Leerink upgraded the stock from Underperform to Market Perform and raised the price target from $74 to $101.
- Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN gained 3.5% to settle at $119.32. Shares of several companies in the retail & apparel space traded higher amid overall market strength following a WSJ report suggesting the Federal Reserve may be debating the size of future rate hikes. Fed policy tightening has weighed on consumer spending throughout the year.
- Tesla, Inc. TSLA rose 3.5% to close at $214.44.
