NY Regulators Sign Its First Lease For Rec Marijuana Store

New York regulators have chosen a Harlem location for the first legal recreational marijuana store in the state, reported The City.

The lease for the shop at 248 W. 125th St. is already signed, according to Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) CEO Reuben McDaniel.

"I'm pleased to announce that last night we signed our first lease," McDaniel said. "For those of you familiar with Harlem, you can stand at the Apollo and throw a baseball right across the street," he added.

DASNY spokesman Jeffrey Gordon said the agency is negotiating to sign additional retail leases.

"As we continue to work on identifying sites and finalizing leases with landlords for more than 100 adult-use cannabis dispensaries across the state, we will provide updates on progress when announcements will not impact ongoing lease negotiations," Gordon told Green Market Report.
