Ohio: Collecting Signatures For Cannabis Legalization
Advocates for adult-use cannabis legalization have begun gathering signatures to place the marijuana proposal on the November Ballot writes News 5 Cleveland. The Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol is in charge of collecting petition signatures and is the group behind the proposal that would legalize and regulate the cultivation, manufacturing, testing, and sale of marijuana to Ohioans 21.
For the measure to reach the ballot, the petition needs to have 124,000 signatures from half of 88 counties in the Buckeye state.
Tom Haren, a spokesman for the coalition said earlier he is optimistic not only to see the proposal on the ballot but also that Ohioans will finally legalize cannabis.
California Authorities In Jurupa Valley Seize $1M Worth Of Illegal Weed Products
California’s struggles with illegal cannabis operations continue, as authorities in Jurupa Valley seize $1 million worth of marijuana products from an illicit dispensary, reported NBC Palm Springs.
On Thursday, in a city in the northwest corner of Riverside County, authorities seized 115 pounds of processed cannabis, 10 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, 100 pounds of cannabis concentrate, 2, 400 cannabis vapes, and 1,200 edibles.
At first, the authorities came following up a report of a disturbance, and when they showed up, several individuals run away. Some of them were caught, and afterward, authorities issues search warrants.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with more information about this illegal operation is urged to contact Deputy Butler at the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Massachusetts: Cannabis Control Commission Is Working On Social Consumption Sites
Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission is reviewing policies on the social consumption of cannabis, with the goal of creating social consumption sites reported Spectrum News 1.
"Cannabis is unique," said CCC Commissioner Kimberly Roy. "It is now the top crop in Massachusetts. It actually outpaces cranberries, but it has different challenges with the federal illegality."
The priority categories for revision include 1) clarifying host community agreements; 2) establishing municipal equality, and 3) commencing social consumption.
Maine: Legislative Committee Kills Bill Allowing Cannabis Interstate Commerce
A legislative committee in the Pine Tree state voted down legislation that would have authorized the governor to enter into interstate agreements regarding the cannabis industry, following federal reform, writes Marijuana Moment. Members of the Joint Standing Committee on Veterans and Legal Affairs voted unanimously on a motion to vote against the bill.
Democratic Rep. Joseph Perry filed a marijuana-related bill in the state House on April 25th. Under the measure, the governor would be allowed to sign agreements with other legal states authorizing “transportation, cultivation, manufacture, testing, purchase, sale or distribution of cannabis or cannabis products into and out of this State by entities licensed in Maine,” as soon as when federal law permits interstate transfer.

Colorado: Lawmakers Announce Compromise On THC Levels For CBD
Lawmakers in the Centennial State reported to have reached a comprise in a proposed bill that raised concerns over strict limits on CBD, writes Hemp Today. Senate Bill 271 was created to regulate controversial delta-8 THC products which have recently become popular thanks to regulatory gaps.
Under the initial proposal, any hemp product with more than 2.5 milligrams of THC per serving and with a ratio of CBD to THC less than 15 to 1 would be regulated. An amendment was proposed to lower the maximum THC per serving to 1.75 milligrams, keeping the same CBD-to-THC ratio. However, this amendment would have made many CBD products illegal.
New solution? Bipartisan sponsors of the bill reached a compromise accepting the 1.75 milligrams limit, and changing the maximum CBD to THC ratio to 20:1. More amendments to the bill are expected before a final vote in the Senate and before the measure is sent to the state House.
11 Markets: Weed Sales Hit $1.74B In March
March marijuana sales rose 11.7% month over month after a slight drop of 2.1% in February, as per the data from marijuana analytic company BDSA, as reported by New Cannabis Ventures.
On a per-day basis, sales improved 0.9% sequentially, while in total BDSA projects that sales across 11 markets - Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, and Oregon hit $1.74 billion in March.
