Merger Monday As Athlon Energy Inc, Tibco Software Inc And Ambit Biosciences Corp Rally On Deal News

Three separate deals were announced over the weekend and Monday morning:

Encana Corporation ECA acquiring Athlon Energy Inc ATHL for $5.93 billion in cash ($58.50 per share).

Vista Equity Partners acquiring Tibco Software Inc TIBX for $4.3 billion in cash ($24 per share).

Daiichi Sankyo Co Ltd acquiring Ambit Biosciences Corp AMBI for $315 million in cash ($15 per share).

In the premarket, all three stocks being acquired were sharply higher:

• Athlon Energy up 24.65 percent at $58.25
• Tibco Software up 21. 11 percent at $23.63
• Ambit Biosciences up 87.80 percent at $15.40
