Digital Ally, Taser Shares Up Sharply Following Latest Missouri Police Shooting

A police officer shot and killed an armed man late Tuesday in Berkeley, Missouri, said St. Louis County police spokesman Brian Schellman. Berkeley borders the city of Ferguson, where the shooting of black teen Michael Brown in August created nationwide uproar.

According to St. Louis County Police, a police officer was conducting a routine check at a gas station at about 11:15 p.m. local time. The officer saw two male suspects and approached them. One man pulled a handgun and pointed it at the police office, when the police officer then fired.

In the wake of the most recent shooting, shares of Digital Ally, Inc. DGLY and Taser International, Inc. TASR were trading up in Wednesday's premarket, as the expectation for body camera and surveillance technology will likely heighten.

Digital Ally was last quoted at $16.51, up 11.08 percent.

Taser was higher by 2.23 percent at $26.60.
