US Stock Futures Mixed As Investors Await Start Of Q3 Earnings Season

US stock futures were mixed as investors are awaiting the start of the Q3 earnings season. Future for the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 18 points to 10,888 and S&P 500 futures rose 1.20 points to 1,157. Futures on the Nasdaq 100 slipped 0.75 points to 2,004. The Dow industrials rose 0.21% yesterday. PepsiCo PEP is expected to report its latest quarter earnings at $1.21 per share. Alcoa Inc AA is scheduled to report its Q3 results, after the closing bell today. Immucor Inc BLUD lowered its projections, due to weak industry demand. The data on weekly jobless claims is due at 8:30 a.m. ET, while the Bank of England and the European Central Bank are scheduled to announce interest rate decisions today. Japan's Nikkei 225 Average ended down 0.1%, while the German DAX 30 index gained about 0.06%. The dollar moved down against other major currencies. The euro gained about 0.4%. The greenback dropped 0.6% against yen. The gold futures reached another new record, with the December contract reaching $1,366 an ounce. Read more from Benzinga's Markets.
