US Stock Futures Up As Investors Await Earnings Report By Pfizer

US stock futures moved up as the investors are looking for earnings report by Pfizer Inc PFE. The voters also cast their votes in mid-term elections. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 29 points to 11,119, while the S&P 500 futures rose 4.40 points to 1,187.50. Nasdaq 100 futures surged 7 points to 2,136.00. US stocks closed nearly flat, with the Dow gaining 0.06% and the Nasdaq Composite losing 0.1%. The Federal Reserve will start its 2-day meeting today. The euro gained about 0.5% to $1.3960, while the Australian dollar surged about 1.3% against the greenback. Economists at Lloyds TSB said, “Currency markets and the dollar more specifically are currently hijacked by the debate over QE II.” Pfizer is set to report its quarterly earnings today. Some other companies scheduled to report quarterly results are Kellogg Co K and Archer Daniels Midland ADM. MEMC Electronic Material Inc WFR reported weaker-than-expected quarterly results late Monday. BP Plc BP reported a 67% y/y decline in its Q3 net profit.
