Symantec Corporation SYMC reported stronger-than-expected results for its third quarter and announced a $500 million strategic investment by Silver Lake Partners. Symantec reported a $2.3 billion share buyback program and announced plans to pay a special dividend of $4 per share. Symantec shares surged 8.81 percent to $20.87 in the after-hours trading session. Analysts are expecting Moody's Corporation MCO to have earned $1.05 per share on revenue of $855.89 million in the latest quarter. Moody's shares gained 1.78 percent to close at $87.11 yesterday. Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. (USA) LGF reported downbeat results for its fiscal third quarter on Thursday. Lions Gate shares fell 4.99 percent to $24.17 in the after-hours trading session.
