US Stock Futures Up, All Eyes On Korean Tensions

US stock futures are higher this morning ahead of year-end holidays. The tensions on the Korean peninsula are also in focus. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 23 points to 11,453.00 and S&P 500 futures gained 3.20 points to 1,241.40. Nasdaq 100 futures moved up 6.5 points to 2,219.75. The blue-chip Dow index fell 7.34 points or 0.06% on Friday. Jabil Circuit Inc JBL is likely to report its Q1 EPS at $0.55 on revenue of $3.96 billion. Paychex Inc PAYX is projected to report its Q2 EPS at $0.35 on revenue of $510.65 million. Adobe Systems Incorporated ADBE is estimated to post its Q4 earnings at $0.52 per share on revenue of $988.07 million. Positive sentiment ruled the European markets today. While STOXX Europe 600 Index has advanced 0.90%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved up 0.54%. As per media reports, South Korea held an artillery drill using live fire in a disputed area. Asian markets ended in the negative territory, with Japan's Nikkei Stock Average losing 0.85%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving down 0.49% and China's Shanghai Composite declining 1.42%. Oil futures rose $0.16 to $88.18 per barrel in electronic trading on Globex. However, gold futures gained $2.90 to $1,382.10 an ounce. The dollar gained 0.4% to $1.3140 against the euro.
